Chapter 2765
Sallys voice came from behind the door.
Dulcie, are you alright? How about we go out for a bit? I know a place thats really fun.
Should I take you? Sallys face mirrored her worry.
For three days, Dulcie had remained mostly in her room, stepping out only to eat.
Sally was concerned that Dulcie might spiral into depression.
The door creaked open, and Dulcie mustered a smile.
Im fine, Sally.
Ill take a walk later.
You go on without me.
But Sallys worry deepened upon seeing her attempt to appear cheerful. Dulcie, lets go out together.
It might lift your spirits.
Sally looked at her with genuine concern, treating Dulcie as her own family.
Dulcie shook her head gently.
Really, Im fine.
Ill step out soon.
Alright, but Ill have the driver ready for you.
And when you want to come back, just call me.
Ill come get you myself.
No arguments now, Sally insisted.
Dulcie smiled, appreciating Sallys firm yet caring nature, reminiscent of Kysons own.
After Sally departed, Dulcie threw open the curtains, allowing the brilliant sunlight to chase away the gloom.Basking in the warmth of the sun, she felt a slight lift in her spirits.
She quickly freshened up, changed into something casual, donned a baseball cap, and stepped out of the Shaw residence.
The driver inquired, Mrs.
Shaw, where would you like to go? Dulcie paused, unsure herself.
Anywhere, she responded.
The driver, momentarily surprised, nodded and smoothly pulled away from the curb, driving into the unknown.noveldrama
It was indeed a beautiful day.
The driver cracked the window slightly, allowing a gentle breeze to waft in.
Dulcie found the breeze comforting.
As she opened her eyes, the view outside captivated her: lush greenery, vibrant and teeming with life. It was the early days of autumn, and the air retained a hint of coolness.
As they passed a lake, the laughter of children reached her ears.
Compelled by the joyful sounds, she instructed, Stop here.
You can go back.
Dont wait for me.
Dulcie exited the car and walked toward the lake.
Concerned, the driver parked nearby to keep a watchful eye on her.
Settling on the grass, Dulcie spent her time watching the children at play.
The sight of their cheerful antics warmed her heart.
Thud.
What do you think?
