Alpha Hayley's Destined Mate

Chapter 794

Chapter 794 Cynthia Jefferson

The Hanovers' Villa.

Preston stormed inside, still steaming with anger. Before he could cool off, one of his men burst instill in wolf form-and said in a panic, "Mr. Preston, something bad has happened!"

He kicked his subordinate aside, shouting, "What do you mean? And how dare you barge in here in wolf form?!"

The subordinate shakily stood up, his voice trembling as he said, "There's a whole squad of officers outside. They want you and Mr. Hanover to go with them. They said it's for some investigation-"

Before he could even finish, a group of high-ranking werewolf officers stormed into the room. One of them stepped right up to Preston, flashing a warrant. "Preston, you're being taken in for hiring hitmen, bribing officials, and serious tax crimes. We've got solid proof. You're under arrest."

Preston looked incredulous. "That's impossible!"

The police captain signaled his team. "Cuff him and get him out of here." Hayley's POV:

When I found out Preston got arrested, I happily headed straight to the Hanovers' biggest store.

The second I walked in, I noticed how fancy the place looked, and the employees were clearly trained to be top-notch.

Right away, two of them approached me.

"Good afternoon, miss. Can we help you find anything?"

I didn't bother with small talk. "Where's your designer, Cynthia Jefferson? Isn't she supposed to be here, showing off her designs? Why isn't she out front?"

The sales associates exchanged confused glances. "Cynthia Jefferson? We don't have anyone with that name

here."

"What about the rest of the staff who work here?" I asked again.

"Only the back staff aren't up front," the older one replied.

"What kind of staff would a jewelry store even keep in the back?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"They handle cleaning, refill the water, take out the trash, or move supplies. There are maybe two or three of them at most," she explained.noveldrama

Honestly, they were basically cleaners, but calling them 'back staff made it sound more professional.

"Miss, this is a jewelry store, not a detective agency," the youngest sales associate said rudely, "We don't have time to play hide-and-seek."

I gave her a warning look. "Is that how you normally speak to customers?"

She smirked. "You? An Omega? You don't even look like you belong here. How could you afford anythiri.

here.

I sneered. "So just because I'm a low-ranking werewolf, that automatically means I've got no money, hüh."

Before things escalated, the older sales associate quickly jumped in. "My apologies, miss. She's still learning the ropes. I'd be happy to assist you."

The younger one wasn't done, though. She said sarcastically, "You're just putting on a show because you ve been here longer. If you want to meddle, go ahead. Don't come crying when your sales take a hit!"

The older sales associate just stayed calm, gave me a respectful smile, and motioned toward the lounge. "Please, this way."

Her warm, professional attitude stood in total contrast to the younger one's rudeness. I pulled out a card and handed it over.

"Here's a ten-thousand-dollar tip. Bring me to Cynthia."

The older sales associate's eyes lit up with joy. She was just about to thank me when that smug young sales associate rushed over, grabbed the card from her, and instantly changed her attitude.

"Miss! Let me help you instead! I'm the most experienced and professional one here! I promise you'll be satisfied with my service!"

I shot her a disdainful look. "Wow, you're even grabbing for money now?"

Her smile froze, and she awkwardly held the card up.

"I want her to assist me. Is that clear?" I said firmly without a smile this time, just a sharp look.
