Chapter 1192
Chapter 1192:
“I’m sorry, Evie. I didn’t mean for this to happen. I’ll do right by you—I’ll marry you—I—”
“No,” Evie’s quiet voice interrupted Waylon, devoid of any emotion. Her lowered eyes betrayed nothing.
“I don’t need you to take responsibility for what happened.”
“What?”
“I said there’s no need to take responsibility. Let’s just forget about it and move on.”
“But…”
“There are no buts, Waylon.”
Evie finally looked Waylon in the eye, her expression unreadable.
“What happened last night was an accident. Let’s leave it at that and carry on as before.”
Though her words were calm, Evie knew deep down that nothing would ever be the same again.
Suppressing the emotions swirling inside her, Evie stood and grabbed her bag.
“I have work today. You… clean up and leave.”
Without another word, she walked past Waylon and out of the house.
Moments later, the sound of a car engine starting reached Waylon’s ears. He remained seated, surrounded by Evie’s belongings, the weight of their mistake crashing down on him. With a sudden burst of frustration, he slapped himself hard.noveldrama
“Thud—”
Madisyn gently closed the car door and leaned into the passenger window, her soft, delicate features lit by a faint blush.

“Honey, I’m off to work now. Don’t forget to think about me today.” She carefully observed Andrew’s reaction.
The previous night, Susan had sent her a post filled with romantic little phrases meant to bring couples closer. After reading it, Madisyn found the whole thing strange.
To her, the phrases in that post didn’t seem like they would strengthen a relationship; instead, they felt more like pointless nagging. Susan, however, had been adamant that Madisyn give it a shot, insisting it was something she’d only share with her best friend. Reluctantly, Madisyn had agreed, but when the moment came to actually try it, a wave of embarrassment washed over her.
After much hesitation, she had finally chosen this one, something she thought sounded normal.
But now that the words had left her lips, her face grew hot with self-consciousness. Andrew was always so busy—what if this just distracted him? Her cheeks flushed deeper as she cursed herself for trusting Susan’s nonsense. How could things from the internet actually work?
Andrew, however, saw none of her inner turmoil. For him, the sunshine seemed brighter, the birds’ songs sweeter, and his precious treasure was as beautiful as ever. He couldn’t help but smile back.
“Of course, baby. Every time we’re apart, I miss you—not just today. Should I pick you up for lunch a little earlier?”
