Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1537

Fiona shut the chat window and instantly saw a message from Allen, but she wasn't in the mood to reply. Allen was probably itching to figure out who she was, so why stir the pot?

The pings kept coming through the night, and by the time Fiona got to school the next morning, she was running on fumes. Sleeping in a new place always threw her off.

As she plopped into her seat, she caught sight of Janet and her crew shooting daggers her way. No need to play detective-Janet was clearly fuming about what had gone down the night before.

"Fiona's got a real stroke of luck!" Janet hissed, practically shaking with rage. Her eyes were filled with such venom, it looked like she wanted to rip Fiona apart.

"Janet, you wouldn't believe Fiona's connections!" a girl leaned in, whispering conspiratorially. "Did you catch the news?"

Janet blinked, clearly baffled. "What news?"

She'd been dragged back by some thugs last night, expecting to find Fiona in a bad way. Instead, those same thugs had turned on her.

The slap had left her ears buzzing, and her stomach was still sore from the kicks. If it wasn't for Fiona, she wouldn't be nursing these bruises. She couldn't wrap her head around how Fiona had managed to reverse the situation so drastically. That girl was trouble!

"Janet, take a look at this."

Just then, Patricia sauntered in late with another girl, both shivering and sneezing. They beelined straight for Fiona. With a loud thump, they dropped two heavy books on her.noveldrama

Luckily, Fiona lifted her head just in time, and the books merely brushed past her. Otherwise, they'd have given her a real headache.

"What's your problem?" Fiona shot Patricia a sharp glare. "Didn't get enough of a beatdown?"

"Fiona, you've got some nerve!"

Patricia jabbed a finger at her,

gearing up to smack her. "If you

hadn't gone nuts last night, I

wouldn't have ended up on a soaked

bed."

Fiona just shrugged it off. They brought it on themselves, and now they wanted to pin it on her? Ridiculous!

Can't solve a problem? Blame gravity, right?

"Fiona, don't get too cocky. Someday, you'll be at my mercy, and you'll regret it!"

"Oh, you're dreaming. I'm not gonna end up in your hands. I'm not into women." Fiona smirked, turning back to her game.

Yel?

"So desperate for a guy, huh, Fiona?" Patricia sneered, her face softening with a mischievous glint. "You sneaked out for a secret rendezvous last night, didn't you?"

Fiona paused her game for a beat. A secret meet-up with a lover? Jackson? The thought tickled her. She saw Jackson more as a brother, though A lover at his age? Maybe a bit much, but not entirely off the table.

Spotting Fiona's little grin, Patricia pounced, "So it was a secret fling! Look at you, pretending to be all innocent!"

The next second, Fiona's hand whipped out, landing a crisp slap on Patricia's cheek.
