Chapter 812 Make It Up To Her
Evelyn was discharged and returned home early the next morning, ignoring Harper who was waiting outside her hospital room.
On the first day Evelyn returned home, Harper sent a large number of items to the villa, including nutritional supplements and things for the children to eat, use, wear, and play with.
But within a minute, Evelyn threw both the items and the people out.
She had just been discharged, her face still looking pale. Standing in the yard with her hands on her hips, she scolded loudly, "Who wants your stuff? Take it all away. I don't lack food or clothing, so stop trying to buy me off with these things."
Harper stood outside the door, watching her scold under the blazing sun, with a bandage wrapped around her head, and was quite shocked.
He quickly said, "I won't send anything anymore. You go inside and rest."
Evelyn glared at Harper, pointing at his nose and scolding, "I'm telling you, don't think we will forgive you easily. Leave, and don't stand at my door."
In his entire life, no one had ever dared to speak to Harper like this. He felt a loss of dignity for a moment but still spoke gently.
"Evelyn, if you want me to leave, I'll leave. Just don't get yourself worked up and fall ill. Go inside, and I'll leave with my people right away."
Evelyn's eyes turned slightly red, and she pretended to be strong as she said, "Hurry up and leave."
After saying that, she turned and walked back into the villa.
Outside the villa, a group of people holding various gifts stood quietly, not daring to look at Harper's face.
Harper watched Evelyn return to the villa until she was out of sight. He sighed deeply, "You all go back first."
Diana, seeing his dejected look, said, "Boss, the sun is very strong today. Why don't you go back first, and I'll stay here and keep watch."
Harper glanced at her, "What's the use of you staying here? All of you leave and let me have some peace."
Diana wanted to persuade him further but knew that Harper was a man who valued his dignity. Evelyn had shut him out, and he must be feeling very hurt.
If they continued to stay here, it would only further undermine his dignity.
She had no choice but to signal to the group, and they all got into the cars and left. Soon, the cars drove away, leaving Harper alone standing outside the villa.
Hubert, Boris, and Noomi were watching the commotion from the floor-to-ceiling window. As soon as Noomi saw the cars leave, she quickly ran to Evelyn like a little messenger.
"Grandma, the cars are gone, and the gifts are gone too. Grandma, we could have kept the gifts." Noomi batted her eyelashes sweetly.
Evelyn had actually accepted the fact that Harper was still alive, just like Ruby had advised her. It was better to have someone alive than never to see them again.
But she still had resentment and anger in her heart, and she couldn't get over it to forgive him.
"You had your eye on the dolls he sent, didn't you?" Evelyn poked her little head, smiling kindly.
Noomi shook her head, "I saw that there were nutritional supplements in the gifts. The TV commercials say that nutritional supplements are good for the body. Grandma, you lost so much blood, you need to eat more nutritional supplements."
Evelyn looked into Noomi's bright and clear eyes, feeling a warmth in her heart. She hugged Noomi and said emotionally, "I didn't dote on you for nothing."
"Grandma, that person is still outside. Should we invite him in to sit?" Noomi looked at Evelyn with wide eyes.
Evelyn pursed her lips, "If he wants to stand, let him stand."

"Okay." Seeing that Evelyn was still angry, Noomi obediently responded and ran back to the floor-to-ceiling window to watch the commotion with her three brothers.
The children were having a great time.
Evelyn found them noisy, gave Pamela a few instructions, and then turned to go upstairs to her room. She quietly walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down.
Through a layer of white gauze, she saw Harper standing outside the iron gate, the sun shining down from above. He had taken off his suit and draped it over his arm, his white shirt clinging to his back, soaked with sweat.
Evelyn told herself not to compromise so easily.
Downstairs, Hubert, Boris, Noomi, and Ethan were chatting excitedly, "Did he do something wrong, and Grandma is punishing him by making him stand?"noveldrama
Noomi said, "But he looks so pitiful. Will he faint in this intense heat?"
"He might get dehydrated and then faint," Ethan said.
Hubert slapped his thigh, "Then we can give him some water. If he drinks water, he won't get dehydrated and faint."
The children acted immediately, turning to get their own bottles and asking Pamela to fill them with water. Then, while Pamela wasn't looking, they sneaked out with their bottles.
They crossed the small garden and came to the iron gate, peering out through it. Harper was sitting by the greenery outside. Hearing voices behind him, he turned around and saw the four children.
He immediately moved closer, squatting by the iron gate, and spoke to them through it, "Why did you come out? It's so hot outside, go back inside."
"Sir, we brought you some water. Please drink some water." Ethan handed out his bottle, and Hubert, Boris, and Noomi quickly handed theirs to him as well.
Harper was instantly warmed by their gesture, tears welling up in his eyes. His voice choked as he said, "Thank you, you are all good kids."
"Sir, what did you do wrong?" Noomi asked curiously, "Grandma says only kids who do something wrong have to stand as punishment."
Holding the four bottles, Harper was stared at by their bright and clear eyes, and he spoke with difficulty, "I made your Grandma angry."
"Then you have to make it up to her," Boris, the most experienced, said. "I often make Mom angry, but as long as I hug her leg and act cute, she stops being angry."
Harper imagined himself hugging Evelyn's leg and acting cute, finding it hard to accept. He touched his nose, "That's because your mom loves you and can't bear to be angry with you."
"Well, then what should we do?" Boris scratched his head in frustration.
Hubert, not good at comforting people, squatted down like Harper, holding his chubby face in his hands, "This is really hard to solve."
Ethan, Boris, and Noomi also squatted down, all looking worried. Noomi said, "Grandma is very easy to appease. When I make her angry, I just pretend to be sick, and she stops being angry."
"Yeah, every time I pretend to be sick, she hugs me and comforts me. Sir, why don't you try pretending to be sick?" Boris suggested.
Harper reached out to touch his head, but suddenly a voice shouted from above, "Where do you think you're touching? Boris's head isn't for you to touch!"
They all looked up to see Evelyn standing by the window, glaring at them fiercely. The children, seeing Evelyn, scattered in fright and ran back into the living room. Leaving Harper alone, squatting by the iron gate with four bottles, as leaves drifted down from above, looking particularly desolate.
