Chapter 373
The only reason Timothy knew anything about seal script was because of his grandfather, Abell. Abell was famous for his elegant handwriting, and his favorite style was always the ancient, flowing seal script.
As a boy, Timothy had spent many years living with the Howard family. During that time, he'd often practiced calligraphy with Abell, learning to master the
brushstrokes of those intricate characters.
Once, Timothy had even won first prize in a youth calligraphy competition.
Maybe some things are just destined.
Meanwhile, Vince was taking Jessica to a framing shop. On the way, his mind kept circling back to his feelings for her. Was it really love?
If it was, why didn't he feel jealous of Herbert's pursuit of Jessica? Why didn't it hurt that Timothy was her husband? None of it fit the usual script, and yet, his feelings for her were undeniably different-special, even.
Was his love just that accepting? Or maybe it wasn't love at all.
They soon arrived at the shop, picked out the materials, and quickly settled into the framing process.
Back at Howard Mansion, the sound of the doorbell rang out.
Abell and Sandra instantly perked up, excitement written all over their faces.
Timothy's heart began to pound in his chest-just like it had the day Jessica agreed to marry him.
Sandra stood up, almost trembling with anticipation. "They're here! Come on, let's greet them together," she called out to her husband.
The housekeeper was already on her way to open the door.
Sandra and Abell both cared deeply about this first meeting with Jessica. Together, they hurried outside-only to find Sallie walking up the path.
"Sallie? What brings you here?" Sandra called, surprised.
Sallie rushed over and threw her arms around her grandmother, her voice trembling with distress. "Grandma, I've had the worst luck! Timothy left the country injured, and I came all this way to find him. But on the way, my flight hit terrible weather-we had to make an emergency landing, and I was stranded for two days before I could get another flight."
Sandra stroked her back soothingly. "It's alright, sweetheart. You're safe now, that's all that matters."
"It was so scary. I honestly thought I'd never make it back. Where's Timothy? Is he here yet?"
"I'm here," Timothy answered.
At the sound of his voice, Sallie broke away from Sandra and hurried over. Seeing him in a wheelchair, she hugged him fiercely.
"How could you just run off like that? You scared me half to death! I was terrified I'd never see you again."
They were twins, after all—siblings as close as any two people could be.
They bickered and teased each other constantly, but even though they'd been born at the same time, Sallie had come out first. She took her role as big sister seriously and was fiercely protective of Timothy.
"Sorry I worried you," Timothy said quietly.
Sallie clung to him for a long time before finally letting go. Then she caught sight of Sheila nearby and shot her a frosty look. But out of. respect for her grandparents, she kept quiet and followed everyone inside.
Settling down next to Sandra on the sofa, Sallie clung to her grandmother's arm and whined, "Grandma, how did you know I was coming? You even came outside to greet me!"
Sandra patted her head with a smile.
"I didn't know it was you, dear.
Timothy's wife is also in
Aetherion-he invited her for dinner tonight I thought it was her arriving. It's the first time I'm meeting my granddaughter-in-law, so of course I wanted to greet her in person." noveldrama
Sallie's eyes widened in surprise. "Jessica's here in Aetherion, too?"
"That's right. Timothy said they had a little spat, and he came here injured and all-just to find his wife."
Sallie looked confused for a moment but then quickly recovered. If Jessica was the one Timothy was looking for, that was much better than him coming after Sheila. For a moment there, she'd been worried.
Just then, the doorbell rang again.
What do you think?
