Chapter 2322 Strongest VS Strongest

The warship trembled, its hull groaning under the assault. Gunfire rang out, mixing with the deafening noise of the chaos around them.
Santiago quickly analyzed the situation, making up his mind in an instant. He motioned to his subordinate. “Get the fleet moving toward Chanaca. And prepare a small boat!”
The subordinate hesitated, confusion flickering across his face, but he obeyed without question.
Santiago strode to a nearby compartment. The sight before him was lay sprawled on the floor, their weapons no match for their attackers.
A figure stood in the midst of the chaos.
grim. Several Northern Region soldiers
An elderly man, pale–haired and full of energy, his presence as commanding as Santiago’s.
“It’s you,” Santiago muttered, his voice a mix of recognition and something harder to place.
“Of course, it’s me,” the old man replied, a calm smile on his lips.
“Long time no see, Santiago. You’re aging well. Still guarding the borders at sixty, huh? Not like those fame- chasing singers.”
“Don’t act like you’re not the reason I’m still here,” Santiago shot back. “If it weren’t for you and your kind stirring up trouble, my successor would’ve already taken over.”
Santiago stretched his back, his old joints creaking. “Haven’t moved like this in years. Guess the new year means I can’t escape a real workout. Let’s see if these old bones still have it.”
“Your successor?” The old man laughed, a low, mocking sound.
“You sure know how to pick them. That’s a quintuple–S class Legend’s bloodline, right?”
“Of course,” Santiago grinned.
“You think I’d just pick anyone? You’re not the only one still going strong, Helios. You’re my age, and here you are, trying to go toe–to–toe with me for Airspace Group’s interests. Looks like you’ve got the bigger gamble.”
At the sound of his name, Helios‘ expression softened, just for a moment.
“It’s the final showdown,” Helios Sheffield–Grey said, his voice steady, but the fire in his eyes told a different
story.
Before Santiago could respond, Helios‘ fist shot forward with terrifying speed.
The punch didn’t come for Santiago.
Instead, it unleashed a wave of flames straight at the door, targeting the Northern Region soldiers who were charging in to help.

The fire engulfed the compartment, turning it into an inferno.
“Stay back!” Santiago shouted, his back still turned to his men.
“This enemy isn’t something you can handle. Get the fleet back to Chanaca. Support Zovince!”
“Yes, Commander Adkins!”
A group of subordinates quickly responded, their voices still shaky from the close call.
If Santiago hadn’t intervened to block that inferno, they would’ve been dead by now.
This battle was beyond them. They could only rely on their military spirit to see them through.

“Santiago, looks like you haven’t been resting on your laurels all these years! No wonder you’re the one everyone thinks might catch up to Lucian!”
“Decades as the Northern Region’s commander and one of Chanaea’s pillars of stability… very impressive portfolio!”
Helios‘ words were genuine, admiration lacing his tone.
His earlier strike had reached triple–S class power, and it was a fusion between mystical power and cutting- edge technology, but Santiago had simply used his energy force to dissipate it. It was chilling.
“Ha! Helios, don’t think you can lull me with flattery!”
Santiago chuckled. “You’re the Warlord with the highest martial arts in the Holy Trinity, blending high–tech with the Lannister family’s tactics. You’re probably one of the closest to Lucian in terms of power!”
“Not quite,” Helios waved it off.
“Five of me might stand a chance against someone like Lucian, but just one? No way.”
Santiago’s smile faded, his expression sharpening.
“So, Helios, you’re here to kill me?”
“Yes,” Helios answered, his voice steady.
“Chanaea needs a change of leadership. I’ll admit, Artemis has been pivotal to Chanaea’s rise. Their defensive strategy worked for a time, but now? It’s outdated. The time for new leadership is here.”
Santiago’s eyes narrowed.
“And who do you think should lead?”
“Mason, obviously.”
Helios spoke plainly, his tone unwavering. “My brother was loyal to both Yorick and Mason. He helped build Mason’s rise, just like he did with me and the Holy Trinity. Mason’s loyalty to the Sheffield–Grey family is unquestionable. If he becomes president, it’ll mean our family finally controls Chanaea.”

“It’s been that way for centuries, and it’ll stay the same for the next five thousand years. Human desire never fades.”
“True enough,” Santiago replied, a grin tugging at his lips. He didn’t argue.
“Looks like things aren’t so united in the Holy Trinity. Each of you’s got your own agenda.”
“That’s right,” Helios confirmed.
“The Holy Trinity is made up of three separate organizations. We joined forces because we all wanted the same thing–destroy Artemis and seize power. But inside, there’s still plenty of difference. Doesn’t change the fact that we work together.”
“I see,” Santiago nodded slowly, his smile fading.
“Looks like me standing in your way means I’m a dead man walking.”
“Yep,” Helios agreed, his expression unreadable.
“Even though I know it’s gonna be a tough fight for us.”
“Fine,” Santiago said, his voice calm.
“Let’s change the scenery. Follow me.”
The warship was already on its way back to Chanaea, and Santiago knew a top–tier Sage–level opponent was no easy match. Regular soldiers stood no chance in a fight like this. noveldrama
He didn’t want his men to die needlessly, and he certainly didn’t want to see his ship–the pride of the fleet -get destroyed.
The moment the Warlord boarded, Santiago knew a one–on–one duel couldn’t be avoided.
Helios seemed to understand this too, following Santiago to the deck. The two of them jumped into a small boat, ready for whatever came next.
“Commander Adkins!”
Murdock Carbuncle, a naval officer from Northern Region, shouted across the deck when he saw Santiago’s risky move.
“I’ll help you take him down!”
“Stay back!” Santiago ordered, raising his hand to stop him.
Santiago didn’t underestimate Murdock. As the strongest martial artist in the Northern Region’s naval division, Murdock held an S+ rank.
In any martial arts tournament across Chanaea, he would’ve been a Grandmaster contender. But against a top–Sage level opponent like Helios, Murdock wouldn’t last a single exchange.

Emmanuel to defend Zovince. Chanaca’s order must be preserved.”
“Murdock, do you hear me?” Santiago’s voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.
“This is an order.”
There was unspoken sorrow and bitter resolve in his voice.

Airspace Group was monstrously powerful, and with their Warlord in the fray, Santiago must plan for the
worst.
“Yes, Commander Adkins!” Murdock saluted, frustration clear in his eyes. He turned to his subordinates.
“Scan the surrounding seas. Clear any potential threats for Commander Adkins before we leave.”
“Understood!”
The radar hummed to life, but no other large warships were detected. The Shoiya fleet had already gone.
Helios stood at the front of the small boat, his crimson and black robe swirling in the wind. His stance was confident, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
“It’s been thirty years since I’ve had a worthy opponent. Don’t let me down, Santiago!”
