Chapter 499: Stellan and Gillian's First Meeting
Stellan watched Alaric's car drive away, feeling helpless and frustrated. Alaric had
actually slept in the car all night; wasn't he afraid of catching a cold?
Watching his car disappear from sight, Stellan went back to the villa. The servants were preparing breakfast. Seeing her enter the kitchen, one of them quickly said, "Mrs. Knight, please wait in the dining room. Breakfast will be ready soon."
"No need, you can go. I'll handle it."
Hearing Stellan say this, the servant didn't dare to argue and quickly left.
Alaric had slept in the car all night and now, after leaving for the company, he would be too busy to have breakfast.
Stellan carefully prepared breakfast, packed it in a lunchbox, then drove to Nexus Innovations.
Silas, who had been reprimanded yesterday, arrived at the company early today. He prepared all the materials Alaric needed for his meeting and diligently cleaned and made coffee.
Seeing Stellan arrive, Silas immediately stood at attention. "Mrs. Knight, good morning!"
Stellan glanced at Silas, who seemed particularly energetic today, then looked at Alaric's office and asked, "Where is he?"
"Mrs. Knight, Mr. Knight is in a meeting."
"Silas, could you please give him this breakfast? If it gets cold, please heat it up for him."
"Sure, Mrs. Knight. No problem at all."
Stellan smiled faintly, then walked to the elevator, pressing the down button.
The elevator doors opened and just as Stellan was about to enter she found herself face-to-face with Gillian.
Stellan looked again to confirm; this was Alaric's private elevator, used only by Alaric, herself, and Cormac.
Who was this girl?
Stellan didn't recognize Gillian, but Gillian recognized her. Although she had only seen her through a phone before, this was a face-to-face encounter.
Seeing her up close, Stellan was undeniably beautiful. This kind of beauty might appeal to men, but Gillian didn't like it.
Gillian withdrew her gaze from Stellan's face, brushed past her shoulder, and walked out of the elevator. Seeing Silas, she voiced, "Silas, where's Alaric?"
"Ms. Emberlyn." Silas was a bit scared upon seeing Gillian, afraid that anything he said might upset Alaric, so he spoke very cautiously. "Mr. Knight is still in a meeting."
"Alaric is in a meeting? Then I'll wait in his office. I know he probably skipped breakfast again, so I brought him some."
At this point, the elevator doors closed, cutting off the sound.
This morning, Alaric had mentioned that Thomas and his daughter had come to Arizona. So, she must be Thomas's daughter.noveldrama
How arrogant!
Even if Gillian didn't know Stellan before, appearing here and using this elevator should have given away Stellan's identity, right? So Gillian was deliberately ignoring her?

And she specifically came to bring Alaric breakfast?
'Alaric, if you eat her breakfast and not mine, just wait for me to get mad!' Stellan was angrily told Alaric in her mind.
Hearing Gillian's words and seeing the breakfast in her hand, Silas was in a dilemma and quickly explained, "Ms. Emberlyn, Mrs. Knight already brought Mr. Knight breakfast earlier."
Gillian glanced at the breakfast in Silas's hand, thinking, 'Was this from Stellan?'
"It's fine." Gillian smiled. "More breakfast means more choices. Let Alaric try both and see which one he likes better. Alright, Silas, you can go back to work. I'll wait in Alaric's office."
"Ms. Emberlyn!" Silas was really scared and quickly tried to stop her. "Mr. Knight's meeting might go on for a while. How about I arrange a car to take you around Arizona, and I'll call you when he's done?"
"No need, I'll wait for him. Silas, you can go back to work."
Gillian went straight into Alaric's office. Silas could only wait anxiously outside the meeting room. When Alaric finally came out, Silas quickly approached and cautiously reported: "Mr. Knight, Ms. Emberlyn is here, waiting in your office. I tried to stop her, but..."
Alaric gave Silas a cold glance and then walked away.
Seeing Alaric return, Gillian, who was browsing the books on his office shelf, immediately turned to smiled. "You're finally done with your meeting? It's almost ten, and you haven't had breakfast yet."
"Ms. Emberlyn, if you're bored, I can arrange for someone to take you around Arizona. This is a company, and I'm usually very busy. I don't have time to accompany you." After all these years, Gillian was still as willful as ever, unchanged.

"Now you sound like a businessman. You used to make time for me even when you were busy with training in the military. Now that you're a CEO, you don't have time?" Alaric found her words both amusing and exasperating. "You were just a kid back then. I was humoring a child. Now that you've graduated with a master's degree, do you still need me to humor you?"
Gillian pouted silently, handing him the breakfast she brought..
"Let's not talk about that. I know you haven't eaten, so I brought you breakfast. But you were in a meeting until now!"
Just then, Silas knocked and entered, having heated up the breakfast Stellan had brought as per her instructions.
"Mr. Knight, this is the breakfast Mrs. Knight brought you this morning."
"Stellan was here?" Alaric was pleasantly surprised that Stellan had come to bring him breakfast.
"Yes, she left after dropping off the breakfast."
Although he didn't dare look directly at Gillian, Silas could feel her angry gaze. He quickly voiced, "Mr. Knight, I'll leave you to it."
"Isn't this convenient? She brought you breakfast, and I brought you breakfast. Why don't you try both and see which one you like better?" Gillian also placed the breakfast she brought in front of him.
Alaric looked down at the two breakfasts in front of him, then gave a cold laugh. Looking up at Gillian, he asked, "One was made by my wife, and the other was bought by you. Is there really any comparison?"
Gillian had never cooked. Back in the military, the Mess Hall staff always took care of her. How could she know how to make breakfast?
"If I say the one you brought is better, it only proves the chef did a good job. What sense of accomplishment would you get from that?" Alaric added.
What do you think?
