My Aloof Sisters Asked for My Forgiveness

Chapter 814

The banquet hall was brimming with guests.

Morgan led Dustin and Patricia in through the back entrance and deliberately chose a discreet spot for them to sit.

"Don't let Uncle and the others see you, or they'll throw you out," Morgan said before hurrying off. She had her own duties to attend to.

As time passed, most of the guests arrived. Damien stopped greeting visitors at the door and returned to the banquet hall to mingle with the crowd.

A moment later, the frail and elderly Terry was escorted out by Damien and his brother, Percy.

Leading the way was Zack.

The entire room stood up immediately to show their respect.

They helped Terry to the seat of honor at the table. Zack took a seat beside him while Damien and Percy sat to either side.

At the back of the hall, Patricia raised her head to look at the elderly man at the seat of honor.noveldrama

His frail body and vacant gaze made her heart ache.

"Dustin, my great-grandfather doesn't seem to be reacting at all," Patricia whispered to Dustin. She still remembered how Dustin had used some mysterious method the day before.

"Don't worry. It takes time, probably another hour or so," Dustin said to reassure her. Only then did Patricia relax a little.

She held onto a faint hope that once her great-grandfather regained consciousness, he could restore some fairness for her.

"Welcome, everyone, and thank you for coming to celebrate my father's 90th birthday!" Zack said loudly and officially started the banquet.

The guests responded enthusiastically by offering their congratulations.

Zack scanned the crowd with a satisfied smile. His gaze was sharp.

In his mind's eye, he saw the grand future of his own birthday celebration. The crowd would be filled with the most influential people in the country.

Suddenly, his eyes froze on two unwelcome figures.

Damien and Percy had spotted them, too.

Their expressions darkened slightly.

"What is Damien doing? How did those two get in here?" Zack muttered angrily.

Percy's face turned sour, and he quickly asked Damien for an explanation.

"Dad, it was Adrian Pierce, Duscia Corporation's general manager. He spoke up for them and let them in."

"Adrian spoke up for them?" Zack's brows furrowed in confusion.

"Well, since Patricia works at Duscia, it's not surprising the manager would put in a word for her," Percy added.

"Keep an eye on them. Don't let them cause any trouble. Once the banquet's over, make sure they leave immediately," Zack ordered.

The two brothers nodded with their gazes locked onto Dustin and Patricia.

The banquet continued as planned.

Zack started by offering a speech honoring Terry, followed by Warren and his wife, and then Percy and his wife. Lastly, it was Damien and Jade's turn.

Throughout the speeches, Terry remained unresponsive. Suddenly, he stirred.

He trembled slightly as he gazed at Damien and Jade.

"Where... are... the two... missing?" he stammered. He surprised everyone by managing to utter a broken sentence.

The guests exchanged puzzled glances.

Some turned to look at Dustin and Patricia in the back.

Many had heard rumors and knew exactly which two people Terry was asking about.

The expressions of the Yeager family members soured.

"Dad, you're mistaken. Everything's fine," Zack said hastily and signaled for the banquet to continue.

The guests resumed their celebrations and beamed as they stepped forward to present their gifts to Terry.

This marked the banquet's most anticipated moment-the grand gift-giving moment.

"The Ziegler family of Ambition

Enterprises offers a pair of South Sea jade statues, valued at 7.1 million dollars," one guest announced as he presented the statues.

Percy and Damien beamed as they stepped forward to accept the gift.

"The Berrigan family of Prosper

Corporation offers an antique

porcelain tea set, valued at 8 million

dollars, to wish Terry a long and

happy life," another guest declared as they presented their gift.

All the families were eager to curry favor with the Yeager family, so they spared no expense. They offered more extravagant gifts than the last.

Everyone knew Terry loved antiques, so they tailored their offerings accordingly.

"Lucky Enterprises presents a jade flower sculpture, valued at 10 million dollars."

As the gift-giving continued, the gifts became more and more extravagant.

Zack's grin grew wider with each announcement.

Damien and Percy could hardly contain their delight as well.

Today's banquet brought them an enormous fortune.

It proved the Yeager family's rising status.

"Adrian, general manager of Duscia Corporation, presents a set of five golden ancient statues on behalf of Duscia Corporation, valued at... 30 million dollars..."

All eyes turned to Adrian the moment he stepped forward.

His gift was far more valuable than the others.

"Duscia Corporation is incredibly

generous! A gift worth 30 millionet

The rumors must be true that important figure from the Pierce

family has ties with Terry...
