Chapter 879
After hesitating for a moment, he gingerly clicked the button.
Morris's background was surprisingly straightforward. He was abducted as a kid, then found by Gavin, and after some years of silence, he resurfaced-but this time, it was linked to financial crimes.
Lincoln scratched his head, baffled. "How did he manage crimes like that without any formal education?"
"Isn't it just ridiculous?"
As he dug deeper into the details, Lincoln discovered that Morris's educational history was so mundane, it was often ignored. He'd taken breaks during middle and high school due to psychological issues, but he aced his university entrance exams-scores that could get him into any school in the country.
Instead of going to a local university, he chose to study remotely at a private international college.
So, in the grand scheme of things, Morris's education seemed pretty concerning.
It was like he never really experienced a school environment or interacted with teachers and classmates.
"A hopeless case of illiteracy," Lincoln mused.
But stepping away from academics and focusing on his criminal record, it seemed Morris was something of a genius, with sky-high intelligence.
"These are two completely contradictory identities."
Lincoln pondered, "Could he be taking the fall for someone else?"
But who would he cover for?
Someone with such extraordinary talents made Lincoln think of only one possibility—the hacker he knew was somewhere in his computer files.
Lincoln couldn't shake the feeling that Morris might be tangled up with this mysterious figure.
This genius hacker, capable of turning tables in life, could surely influence Morris's fate.
Tossing and turning with these thoughts, Lincoln couldn't sleep. Eventually, he knocked on Morris's bedroom door.noveldrama
Morris, freshly showered, was sitting on his bed in a fluffy white robe, looking as flawless and distinguished as a perfect sculpture.
"Uncle, what brings you here this late?"
Lincoln took a seat in the chair beside him, leaning forward to study Morris closely. "Nathan, there's something I need to clear up with you.”
"Sure, go ahead."
"I went through your records. You never actually went to school?"
Morris nodded, "Yeah. I like being alone and can't stand crowded, noisy places. So, I decided to skip formal schooling."
"So, you don't have a diploma? Nathan, this isn't going to work. I can help you go back to high school and get ready for college. I'll even tutor you myself..."
Lincoln's tone had a hint of disapproval he couldn't hide.
Morris corrected, “I didn't go to school because the subjects were just too easy.”
Lincoln frowned. "You might find the basics simple, but advanced math is a whole different ball game. If you want to get into a good university, you've got to buckle down and study advanced math."
Morris felt a wave of frustration, recalling the days when Nathalie pushed him to study. In his past life, he was a top student at a
world-renowned institutionel
time around, his skills were
light-years ahead of his peers.
"Do I really have to, Uncle?"
For him, those advanced math problems were like a kid learning the alphabet.
With limited time, he didn't want to waste it on this.
But Lincoln was firm. "Nathan, your
mom was a dear friend of mine. I owe it to her to take responsibility for you. Don't say no. Starting tomorrow, I'll teach you advanced
math, and in a year, you'll be ready for the competitions."
What do you think?
