Reclaiming Her Heart

As she was drifting off to sleep, his lips softly brushed against hers.

"Selena."

"Selena."

He repeated her name.

Selena felt shy, overwhelmed by their passionate day together.

"Stop saying my name," she murmured, her voice hoarse yet filled with an almost surreal happiness.

"I want to say it. Again and again," he insisted. "Selena, I love you."

Raymond held Selena tightly. When he opened the living room door, gusts of rain swept in, mirroring the turmoil in his heart.

His eyes darkened as he stared at the black car waiting outside.

Taking a deep breath, he watched two masked bodyguards approach, respectfully gesturing for him to release Selena.

Raymond clutched her, suppressing his rage.

Paul stood behind him, understanding his pain. "Let her go," he finally said. "You'll see each other again someday."

But when that "someday" might come, no one could say.

Raymond looked down at the sleeping woman in his arms. She had grown thinner from her recent suffering, appearing so small and peaceful.

He took a deep breath, pressing his forehead against hers. "Selena, wait for me. I'll come find you soon."

In her dream, Selena frowned uneasily. She wanted to open her eyes but found them too heavy. Her hand instinctively clutched at his familiar clothing.

When Raymond placed her in the bodyguard's arms, her fingers remained firmly gripped on his sleeve.
