The Bad Boy Next Room (Charlie and Taylor)

Chapter 39

Charlie's expression went from sleepy confusion to full-blown attack mode in under three seconds. She looked down, studying their very compromising position before returning her attention to him with a deadly glare.

Without hesitation, she sat up, arms ready for battle. Then, bam! Charlie gave Taylor not just one but two middle fingers, served hot and fresh, right in his face.

"Woah. Woah, chill, Tiger." Taylor looked exaggeratedly shocked when he asked, "Who taught you that?"

Charlie, "???"

"My master," Charlie said. "And he specifically told me to use this towards people who deserved it, and right now, you deserve it. Take advantage of you? You invited me in - no, scratch that. You full-on psychoed me into this!"

Taylor leaned back, asking, "Psychoed you? You make it sound so bad."

"Yeah," Charlie said. "You -" She motioned to him, more specifically his body. "You and your -" her eyes fixed on his broad chest, saying, "You know!"

He smirked, leaned back, and flexed his muscles! Obviously, he knew exactly what she was talking about!

"And a lot more!" She exclaimed. "So don't go blaming me on this, Taylor West!"

"But - um." Taylor somewhat covered his mouth, clearly trying to hold back his laughter. "The invitation was for the other night, Babe?"

"The other night, three nights, four nights, it doesn't matter! The damage was already done!" Charlie reasoned. Pointing at Taylor, she said, "You psychoed me!"

Taylor chuckled. Without giving her another chance to continue her ranting, he sat up and embraced her. "Okay. Okay. I get it. My bad. I said I wanted you to sleep in my arms, but I thought you were uninterested."

Charlie tried to pull away. She hit his arm with her fist, but Taylor only held her tighter. He asked, "What made you change your mind?"

Charlie gulped, still unable to pull away. She said, “Because Inner Devil was a better lawyer?"noveldrama

"Huh?" Taylor asked, his voice laced with confusion.

Only then did Charlie laugh. Her body relaxed, slightly slouched as Taylor continued to support her. She covered her face, ashamed as she admitted, "I couldn't sleep. I was exhausted as hell, and I just wanted to sleep."

"Did you sleep well in my bed?" Taylor asked seriously.

Charlie nodded. "Yeah, I was completely knocked out."

"I could tell," Taylor said, his voice soft this time and still not letting her go. "You were dreaming too."

"What?" Charlie frowned, asking.

"Yeah, you said something in the likes of, 'Prince Taylor, wake me up from my cursed sleep.""

"No way!" Charlie leaned back, attempting to free herself from Taylor.

"Yes, way!" Taylor insisted, pulling her closer. "I tried to wake you up but you latched onto me like a koala. No matter what I did, you wouldn't wake up."

"Maybe you did not try hard enough," Charlie suggested.

"Well, I guess maybe not." Finally, Taylor loosened his hold around Charlie. He

said, "The truth was, I did not want to wake you."

"Did you know you look extra cuter in

my arms?" Taylor teased. "Perhaps,

since was the reason for your sleepless nights, I should pay the price."

Taylor raised his hand and swore, "I promise to be your human pillow for as long

as -" He paused, thinking, "That doesn't sound right."

Charlie raised a brow, curious. Then, Taylor corrected. "I promise to be your human pillow forever."

"Forever?" Charlie asked, surprised.

"What? You've already cuddled with me, Charlie. It's a lifetime contract. You gotta

take responsibility too," Taylor suggested.

Charlie rolled her eyes. "Pretty sure I never signed any contract."

"Oh, but you did," Taylor smirked. "It was written in drool."

"You" Charlie gasped, flustered. He was just so impossible! She grabbed a pillow and started hitting him with it. "I do not drool in my sleep!"

"Hey—" Taylor tried to block the pillow, but Charlie had some mysterious super strength that made dodging nearly impossible. "Charlie!"

“Haha! Charlie! Stop-" He laughed aloud while blindly grabbing another pillow. Then, he finally landed a hit against her side.

Charlie hit back with the force of a thousand wronged rom-com heroines. When Taylor nearly toppled off the bed, she burst into laughter.

Feathers flew as they whacked and dodged, their laughter filling the room. Taylor stumbled back onto the bed, using another pillow as a shield. "You fight dirty!"

"Says a guy who is probably fifty pounds heavier than me!" Charlie countered, throwing her pillow and preparing for another blow.

Taylor smirked. He lunged-catching her mid-swing and sending them both toppling onto the other side of the bed.
