The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains

Chapter 496 United Efforts

Candice was a warm-hearted person.

She believed Michael was framed and was moved by Emily's straightforward and honest nature. Plus, she was concerned about a pregnant woman having difficulty getting around, so she decided to join Emily in finding Patrick.

Candice picked out a BMW X3 from her garage.

Although she loved sports cars, she knew that a pregnant woman shouldn't be overly stimulated.

The two met up quickly, and Emily finally had someone to help her, which made her feel much more at ease. She felt a bit embarrassed about the fiasco from the day before and apologized to Candice, who didn't mind at all.

"It's okay. Seeing you go all out to help Michael find the truth today, I can tell that you two, even though you're divorced, haven't really let go of each other!" Candice smirked as she drove, teasing, "Neither of you has moved on! Love is such a complicated

thing!"

Emily blushed and lowered her head, feeling a bit awkward. She didn't need to explain anything; her actions spoke for themselves.

Candice glanced at her and smiled. "Back to business. I saw Michael with Patrick yesterday. We had a little misunderstanding, so I left early, but Patrick slipped his contact info into my bag.

"When I got home, I thought it was just some scrap paper. Who knew people still hit on others like that these days!

"Luckily, he left me that note. I called him earlier to get his address. Emily, let's go find him now. Together, we can figure out how to clear Michael's name!"

Emily felt a warmth in her heart and nodded in agreement.

Patrick? She didn't know much about him. He must be a new friend of Michael's. She wondered if he would be willing to help.

Even if he was willing, where should they start to uncover the truth?

Could Smith Corporation wait?

A flood of questions filled Emily's mind, refusing to leave.

Meanwhile, Michael's condition had stabilized.

He had fallen into a deep sleep. Although he had taken some sobering medicine, it would take time for him to fully wake up.

Seeing Michael in this state, Veda was puzzled. "Why did he drink so much?"

Daniel, organizing the medical kit, tried to comfort Veda, but he couldn't tell her how dangerously Michael had been drinking.

Just a bit more, and the consequences would have been unimaginable, beyond the help of any sobering medicine.

Veda's eyes were full of worry as she softly asked, "Daniel, when will Michael wake up? The company's stock is plummeting. He needs to wake up soon to take charge! And did he really get drunk and hit someone? Why is the internet full of people criticizing him?

"Smith Corporation might really be in crisis this time! Luckily, I've managed to keep this from Grandpa. His health isn't great lately, and I don't know what to do."

Veda had never faced anything like this before. She was terrified. Feeling helpless, Veda leaned on Daniel's shoulder for comfort.

Being young, she hadn't learned to think things through thoroughly.

Daniel quickly identified the root of the problem. He comforted Veda while thinking of a solution.

"Veda, do you really think Michael would get drunk and hit someone? Especially a woman?"

Veda immediately responded, "Of course not! Michael drinks often, especially after divorcing Emily. He's been drunk before but never like this! And now he's accused of hitting someone. There's no way to clear his name!"

"Why not? He was set up." Daniel countered.

Despite being Michael's rival, Daniel believed in Michael's character.

Michael might be reckless at times, but he wouldn't hit a woman.

"So, besides getting Michael to wake up, we need to uncover the truth quickly," he added.

Seeing Daniel's determined look, Veda was still worried. "How do we find the truth?" She had never dealt with anything like this before, and finding the truth wasn't part of her MBA curriculum. She was completely confused.

Daniel thought for a moment and then told Veda the truth. "Actually, Emily has already started looking for the truth. Veda, we need to take care of Michael and get him to wake up. Also..."

He gently placed his hand on Veda's shoulder, comforting her like a family

member. "You need to stabilize the company and reassure the shareholders to prevent further spread of rumors."

Emily? Veda hadn't expected that.

She paused and asked Daniel, "Emily? Who can she find?"

Daniel didn't know either.

But he knew they needed to work separately but towards the same goal: clearing Michael's name and saving Smith Corporation.

"Veda, trust me. Emily was married to Michael, and she's carrying the Smith family's child. She won't do anything to harm the family. Trust her, trust yourself, and trust Michael. If he didn't do it, we'll find the evidence sooner or later."

Daniel's words carried weight with Veda.noveldrama

She took a deep breath, her eyes showing determination. "Daniel, you're right. I'll go

back to the company and call a shareholders' meeting."

She instructed Daniel to take care of Michael and left.

Daniel watched Veda leave, feeling a mix of emotions.

Veda and Michael seemed like the elite of Emerald City, living on high. But when

trouble struck, they were walking on thin ice, risking everything.

This was the harsh reality of the business world, perhaps why Kieran refused to enter

the Emerald City business battles.

Now, they had to work together to overcome this crisis.
