The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 34

Chapter 34:

Hayden stood in the elevator and let out a chuckle at that, “I’m too busy to even think about that kind of stuff, unlike you who only thinks about inheriting family wealth and messing with rich people.”

Chelsea was so furious that her fingernails were almost digging into the skin of her hands.

Six years earlier, she had staged an incident for the sole purpose of trashing Hayden’s reputation and igniting her father’s hatred for Hayden. She did all that to ensure that Hayden would not have the opportunity to compete with her for her inheritance rights. What escaped her calculations, however, was that Hayden would run away one night six years ago, and that she would not see her again until today.

During the six years Hayden was away, Chelsea was indeed leading a good life. However, she was back at this time. What were her reasons for returning?

As Hayden was leaving work in the afternoon, while Hayden was preparing dinner for Stella in the kitchen, his cell phone suddenly rang. He wiped his hands on his apron before pulling out the phone. When he saw that it was his father’s, his expression gradually darkened.

“Dad.”

“I heard you’re back.”

Her father’s voice rang on the other end of the phone. It had been a long time since he’d heard that voice, and at the moment it sounded a little tired.

“Yes.” He replied simply as his fingers traced various shapes on the cutting board.

He didn’t have to rack his brains to know that Chelsea was the one who informed his father of his return. No matter what his father heard, it wouldn’t be any good.

“If you’re back, then you should go home. What do you think people would think of you if you’re out there lounging around all day?”

Hayden frowned at that, “There’s no need for that, Dad. I’m fine living alone in my own house.”

“Hayden, I know you always have something to say because of what I go through with your mother, but at the end of the day home is still home. I can’t be cool with you being out there by yourself, so you should-”

“Dad.” Hayden interrupted his father. “I’m really having a great life here. I have a job now and I’m staying near the company. I have to hang up now because I’m busy with something, I’ll visit you when I’m free.”

His father didn’t say anything else when he heard that, just gave him some advice before hanging up. Hayden was also stubborn from a young age. But she didn’t know how to be spoiled in front of adults, coupled with the fact that she had lost her mother when she was born, this made her feel a bit unlucky in the eyes of the other adults. They all thought she only knew how to keep to herself.

After hanging up the phone, she stood motionless in the kitchen for a long time.

“Mom.” A tender voice from the doorway broke Hayden’s reverie.

Seeing her daughter, she gave a warm smile, “What’s wrong, are you hungry? Food’s almost ready.”

Stella reached over and pointed to her phone, “Was that Grandpa?”

“Yes.” Hayden nodded as he bent down to pet Stella’s head. After a pause, he asked, “Stella, would you like to see Grandpa?”

Stella blinked obediently, “What about you, Mommy, if you want to come back, I’ll follow you, I’ll be with you wherever you are. I’ll always be your love, wherever we go.”

Hayden felt a warm current run through her when she heard that. He hugged her and replied, “You’re right. You will always be my love, wherever you are.”

Back then, she took her daughter with her when she went abroad to avoid the man who had bought her other child, but she also left to avoid explaining herself to her family. If she returned home with a child in tow, a big conflict would probably arise. So, in the end, she decided to run away.

Five years had passed in the blink of an eye, he couldn’t hide Stella from his family forever.

Besides, even if she did everything she could to avoid trouble, it seemed she could not escape those who wanted to provoke her. N City wasn’t a very big place, and who knew Chelsea would ever see her again someday? Now she had to prepare for any situation.

In the middle of the night…

“Joseph, you’ve been drinking too much today. Let me take you home.”

At the entrance of a hotel, Violet was holding Joseph with a worried look on her face. At the same time, she was discreetly looking at a hidden van parked not far away.

The high-resolution cameras captured every moment she was helping Joseph as he was leaving the hotel, and the hand she was holding Joseph with was squeezed even tighter, even resting her upper body entirely on Joseph’s arms, her breasts enveloped by the evening dress pressed against his arm.

Joseph was a little tipsy at the moment, but after a moment’s hesitation, he finally came to. With a frown, he took his hand off her and replied, “No need. I can go back alone.”

“Joseph!”

Violet immediately ran up and chased after him. “It’s too late now, I’m very worried about you coming back alone. Let me walk you back, then I’ll go home on my own.”

In the van, not far away, the sounds of camera flashes could be heard fluttering repeatedly, and images were captured of Violet following Joseph back to his car.

The Imperial Village area, in the eastern district, was where Joseph usually stayed.

The alcohol he had consumed today was slightly concentrated compared to those he normally consumed, so he really felt the after effects, as he couldn’t even walk properly feeling his feet wobbly. Violet called the maid to help her move to her room.

“I’m sorry to disturb you, Miss Kidman, but how much alcohol have you had to drink today?”. The maid was quick to say thank you.

“No need to thank me. Anyway, in the near future I will be Joseph’s family. If I don’t take care of him, who would take on that responsibility?” Violet sat on the edge of the bed as she stroked Joseph’s shoulder with her long fingers. She looked at the maid and said, “Your work is done here. I’ll take good care of him now.”

“Oh?” The maid was slightly taken aback, “Miss Kidman, aren’t you coming home?”

“Don’t you understand what I just told you?”. Violet’s expression darkened slightly, “In the near future, this will also be my home. Where are you asking me to return to at this time?”.

The maid finally understood her words as she shook her head guiltily, “That’s not what I mean, Miss Kidman. Then please take good care of sir. If you need anything, call me.”

Violet snorted coldly with an arrogant expression on her face, as if she were already the mistress of the house.

After making sure that the maid had indeed left after closing the door, in the dim glow that illuminated the inside of the room, the corner of her eyes lifted slightly as she slowly turned and placed her hands on Joseph’s chest.

“Joseph…”

Joseph was really drunk at that moment as he impatiently removed his tie and muttered hoarsely, “Hot.”

“Are you hot?” Violet leaned her body down and whispered next to his ear, “Let me take your shirt off.”

As she said that, her hands were already busy unbuttoning his shirt buttons.noveldrama

When he finished, his sculpted chest came into view. Violet’s gaze burned with desire as she kicked off her shoes and straddled his waist. Her hands slowly explored his skin as they moved down from his chest.

The sound of the doorknob turning broke the hazy, ambiguous atmosphere of the room and, with a snap, jets of light penetrated the room. A black silhouette stood amidst the light, its shadow stretching into the distance.

It was Noah.

When Violet saw who the intruder was, she felt a sudden surge of anger well up inside her. She warned in a low voice, “Who let you in? Get out.”

If this were a regular situation, Noah would undoubtedly run as far away as he could as soon as he saw Violet. However, when he remembered what the maid had said, he could only stand motionless, his face deathly pale and his teeth clenched.

Violet could only stop what she was doing and pounced on him with an ugly expression. She dragged Noah out of the room and after making sure no one was around, she grabbed his cheeks and warned him, “Noah, I remember telling you that you must not interfere with me. Otherwise, you’re going to suffer.”

Noah felt a lot of pain being strangled by her, so he began to struggle.

Violet was afraid he would scream for help, so she could only push him away and gave him her final warning, “Be obedient.”

The moment she said that, Noah lost his balance, as his feet could not rest on anything. Then, he stumbled down the stairs without warning.
