Chapter 693 Poor Shawn
Susan knew she shouldn't have expected anything from Randall.
When they arrived at the library, Susan plopped down on a bench, scooting back so her feet dangled off the ground. She swung her legs, feeling a bit down.
The city library wasn't crowded, but it had a mix of people, including some college students like them.
Randall set down his water bottle. "Not gonna find a book to read?"
Susan pouted, her round face showing a hint of displeasure.
Randall handed her his water bottle. "If you got nothing to do, get me some water."
Susan took the bottle and headed to the water station, familiar with the routine.
Randall wandered through the bookshelves, found the book he wanted, and glanced back at Susan, who was sitting dejectedly on the bench. Beside her was a glass water bottle with the lid off, steam rising from it.
The sunlight streamed in, casting a peaceful glow.
Randall watched for a moment before moving to another section. After a while, he returned to his seat.
He placed the second volume of the book Susan had borrowed last time in front of her. "Here, read this."
Susan looked at Randall. "Randall, why don't you like going to the school library? Why do we always come to the city library on weekends?"
Randall replied, "At first, it was because, at the school library, a bunch of girls would secretly take pictures of me while I was studying. Later, it was because I started working and didn't have time to go to the school library during the week."
Susan pursed her lips. So that's why.
"If I went with you to the library, would they still take pictures?"
"They'd take pictures of both of us," Randall said confidently.
Susan propped her face on one hand, thinking that what he said made sense. "Just read."
"Randall, I didn't know we were coming to the library. I didn't bring my water bottle."
Randall opened his book, glanced at the contents, and casually handed his glass bottle to Susan. "We'll share."
Susan, straightforward as ever, asked, "Doesn't that mean we're indirectly kissing?"
Randall closed his book and looked at Susan's expectant face. "You drink from the lid, and I'll drink from the rim. Deal?"
"Okay." Susan held the bottle in one hand and the lid in the other, ready to pour water.
Randall watched as Susan carefully avoided spilling the hot water on herself or the table.
He set his book down and tapped the table, motioning for her to hand it over. "Give it here."
Susan passed the items to him, watching as Randall poured the water without spilling a drop, and handed it back to her.
Randall tried to read, but as soon as he opened the book, Susan noticed some white particles floating in the water. "Randall, what's this?"
Randall sighed. "Susan, there's a book called 'A Hundred Thousand Whys' over there. Go find it."
Seeing Randall's impatience, Susan fell silent.
Randall read while Susan busied herself pouring and drinking water.

Randall was there to read; Susan was there to play with water.
Occasionally, Randall would glance at Susan before returning to his book, his thoughts sometimes wandering.
At the Olteran Manor.
Sebastian walked in, heading straight for Warren and picking up Teddy.
He then sat next to Molly.
With Teddy in her arms, Molly didn't want to leave. She pinched Teddy's cheeks and gave him a kiss. "Teddy, do you love me?"
"I don't know if Teddy loves you, but Sebastian sure does," Vera said from nearby.
Molly glared at Vera. "Keep quiet."
Sebastian, grateful to Vera, held Teddy as if he were his own child.
"Vera, what's Teddy saying?"
Vera translated, "Teddy's frustrated with an aunt like you."
Teddy ended up back in Molly's arms, his face constantly kissed until he grew irritated and started crying loudly.
Eventually, Teddy found solace on Vera's lap, his tears stopping as he happily kicked Vera's arm.
Patrick approached, ending Teddy's brief moment of peace.

When Patrick picked him up, Teddy was excited, thinking he could see higher from Patrick's tall height. But his excitement faded as Patrick bent down and placed him on the couch.
Teddy looked up, his innocent eyes confused as Patrick sat beside him. "Practice sitting for a while."
Teddy's lip quivered, his eyes pleading with Vera. When she ignored him, he flopped onto the couch and started crying again.
The family elders scolded Patrick and Molly for upsetting Teddy. "Patrick, Molly, why do
you keep bothering Teddy? He's just recovered and needs to rest."
Patrick pointed at Teddy. "Kids his age can sit up already. He's still like a weeble." Shawn retorted, "You couldn't sit up at ten months either. Did I complain?" Everyone looked at Patrick in disbelief.
For the first time, Patrick had no comeback. He couldn't remember what he was like as
a baby.
Vera, curious, sat next to Patrick, pulling his arm around her and snuggling like a cat. "Patrick, you really couldn't sit at ten months? Even I could crawl by then."noveldrama
Vincent thought for a moment. "Dad, didn't Patrick hold your hand and stand up at ten months?"
Shawn looked at Teddy, his memories stirred. "It's been almost thirty years. I forgot. My point is, that a father shouldn't criticize his son. No matter how slow he is."
Molly teased, "Dad's short statement had such a deep meaning."
Shawn took a deep breath, his gaze falling on Sebastian. "Take her away. Now." "Dad, I can't," Sebastian said.
Shawn shouted, "Where's the enthusiasm you had when you begged me to marry her? She's part of your family now. Why bring her back to annoy me? What did you promise me?"
Vera added, "He was giving you a fantasy. You were the only one who believed it."
What do you think?
