The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 345 The Storm Unleashed

Koen's kiss was forceful and intense, diving in without a moment's hesitation.

Though his technique left much to be desired, the pressure was enough to leave Peyton too stunned to react.

When he finally released her, Peyton's face flushed with anger as she glared at the man before her.

"How long have you been holding it in? Finally dropping the pretense and showing your true colors?"

Koen's expression darkened as he replied, "The more you despise me, the more I want to be with you. At Morgan Group, our principle is to be shameless. What do you suggest I do?"noveldrama

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Peyton trembling with fury. She wanted nothing more than to get Frey out of this wretched place and away from these scoundrels!

By noon, the sun had pierced through the thick clouds, suggesting that snow might soon fall on the mountains.

Sunlight streamed into Frey's bedroom through the large, ancient carved window. Next to her, the man lay covered in bloody scratches from her nails and deep bite marks on his broad shoulders.

Frey herself didn't fare much better, her pale skin marked with light bruises. The night before had been a wild frenzy.

She slowly closed her eyes just as Nathaniel woke up beside her, wrapping his strong arms around her.

He clung to her like a koala.

Frey tried to pull away, but he held her tighter.

"Don't move," Nathaniel's voice was hoarse and thick with emotion.

"I need a bath," Frey protested. She and Nathaniel had been inseparable since their engagement, but now she felt a deep conflict within herself, yearning for the tenderness of three years ago yet hating herself after every encounter.

"You fell asleep yesterday, so I washed you," Nathaniel murmured, holding her even tighter.

The terrifying leap she had taken the previous day had nearly driven him mad with fear, and now he didn't want to let her go for even a moment.

"I won't let go again, Frey," he

whispered. "I almost died with you once. I'm not afraid of anything now. If the worst happens, we'll face it together. I'll rely on you."

"We both owe each other a favor. Let's stay together and see it through."

Frey laughed bitterly.

There was a knock on the door from Koen, and it came at the worst possible time.

Nathaniel felt an overwhelming urge to grab his revolver and shoot him.

Koen had no choice but to interrupt.

Nathaniel's phone was turned off, and Taylor had called him.

Taylor, staying in Saeville to monitor Abigail's case, wouldn't have bothered Nathaniel unless it was urgent. "Mr. Nathaniel, Abigail's case in Saeville is about to go to a public trial. The court wants Ms. Frey to attend."

Before Nathaniel could react, Frey broke free from his grasp and sat up abruptly.

"Frey, usually the defendant needs to attend the public trial, but if there are specialcircumstances, they may be excused," Nathaniel said, frowning as he watched her intently

He had worked so hard to pull her out of the darkness in Saeville.

Her mental state had improved significantly recently.

She could eat, and sleep, and went to therapy regularly. Everything was progressing positively.

Nathaniel himself didn't want to

leave the tranquility of their current surroundings, but he could see the longing in Frey's eyes. She needed to return.

Abigail was her inner demon, and only by seeing her imprisoned could Frey find peace.
