The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Chapter 238

Jason finally couldn't suppress his surprise.

Could the Flying Seal Group have added Evelyn's name not because Sebastian had slipped her in for appearances, but because she had genuinely participated in the project's development?

That guess struck his mind like a blow, instantly occupying all his thoughts.

Jason sat there in deep thought for a long time.

It was not until Fiona urged him to send her to school that he did so. However, he just happened to receive a call from Mason asking him to come over to Bluezen.

Jason hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

...

As soon as he arrived at Bluezen, he headed straight for the top floor, but a hint of suspicion appeared in his eyes at the sight of Tiffany.

Lucas was sitting on the couch in the office, reading some documents.

Besides Mason and Tiffany, there were two other men in suits present.

"What took you so long to get here?" Mason asked, turning his head. Then, he teased, "Don't tell me you've been secretly dating someone behind our backs?"

She also slowly looked over upon hearing those words, observing Jason's expression for any changes. "Really?" she asked.

Even Lucas raised his head.

Even so, Jason's expression didn't change. "No."

Tiffany raised a brow, unsurprised.

Jason wasn't like Mason. Mason had dated a few people, but Jason had high standards and tastes. If he really was dating, it meant that said person was outstanding.

As such, he would introduce her to them.noveldrama

The truth was, Jason didn't have those kinds of thoughts at all. He didn't continue the topic and instead cast a thoughtful glance toward Lucas.

If he wasn't mistaken, Evelyn might have truly been involved in the development

of the Flying Seal Group project. So... should he tell Lucas? Did Lucas know?

If he didn't, would it change or influence anything about the aftermath of his and Evelyn's divorce once he did know?

Lucas also noticed Jason's gaze and casually looked over. "What's wrong?"

The moment their eyes met, Jason crushed the thought that had just formed. He rubbed his phone and ultimately shook his head. "It's nothing."

He didn't say it out loud in the end. Although it was still just his speculation and hadn't been confirmed yet, he had already made up his mind. He would do his best to secure a role in Flying Seal Group's future projects.

"What happened? Who are these two?" Jason changed the topic, his thoughts a

mess.

Seeing that Jason wasn't picking up the conversation about relationships, Mason shrugged in boredom before replying, "It's great news for Tiffany. Lucas said it can be made public now."

...

When Evelyn returned to Flying Seal Group, the doctor had already scheduled the surgery. It was set for early June, and she had no objections.

Carrying the gift from Fiona and Jason upstairs, Evelyn realized it was from a top- tier luxury aromatherapy candle brand. If it were really a custom edition, as he had said, the price would be quite steep.

She found it odd.

The fact that Jason had helped arrange the doctor's appointment already left her indebted, yet the siblings had even prepared a gift for her.

She shook her head and chose not to dwell on it.

There was a meeting at 3:00 pm, and she had also scheduled to meet Jonathan from the renewable energy company.

Evelyn went to meet him at the Central Business District, also known as the CBD. Jonathan showed a strong interest in collaborating, expressing strong approval of the ideas Evelyn presented.

After an hour and a half of discussion, he was still eager to continue and immediately decided to book a restaurant so they could keep talking over dinner. The restaurant was located in the vicinity of the CBD.
