Chapter 440 Paxon’s Concern
Seeing this face here, Bianca was nothing but shocked.
A few years ago, it was this very face that kept her up at night, and it was this face that made her lose faith in love.
She couldn't help but clench her fist.
Her eyes revealed no emotion.
Pretending not to recognize Edgar, she calmly said, "Let's go, the dinner is about to start."
After speaking, she walked past Edgar like a proud peacock, leading them away.
Edgar stood in the middle of the crowd, his eyes forlorn as he watched her disappearing figure.
Entering the banquet hall, Paxon not only saw his grandparents but also Leonard and Ernest.
He immediately ran towards them with his short legs.
Leonard lifted him over his head with a smile, "Did you miss me?"
Paxon replied with a smile, "Of course I did. When are you going to find me a new aunt?"
Leonard's expression froze at those words.
He looked over at Sebastian, "Paxon worries more than our parents."
Sebastian walked over, raising an eyebrow, "Even Paxon thinks you're too dumb to find
a wife. How are you the head of the Guise Family?"
The family hadn't gathered in a long time, and they were happily chatting and laughing.
Paxon was their source of joy.
Paxon's ability to navigate conversations and speak without offending anyone once again impressed Sebastian.
After dinner, the family sat together to watch a performance.
In a corner, Paxon once again saw Darren.
He quietly climbed down from his chair, grabbed a few candies and pastries from a plate, and ran towards Darren.
Darren, who had been watching them intently, was suddenly surprised to see a small figure in front of him.
He widened his eyes in surprise.
Paxon handed the treats to Darren, looking up at him, "These are for you. They're really good."
Darren looked at him, puzzled, feeling both sad and heartbroken.
He squatted down, took the candies and pastries, and asked with a smile, "Why only give them to me?"
"Because you don't have a daughter or a grandson. You're all alone."
Hearing this, Darren's tears instantly flowed.
This child had a kind heart like Joyce, or more precisely, like his grandmother Connie.
Connie was always sincere to everyone and never looked down on the servants.
She was always helping them.
Thinking of the past, and how a good family was torn apart because of him, with his wife dying early and Joyce suffering so much that she didn't want to acknowledge him, Darren felt a sharp pain in his heart.
With tears in his eyes, he took a bite of the pastry and kept nodding, "It's good, it's good."
Seeing Darren gobbling down the food, Paxon immediately reached out his small hand to gently pat Darren's back, "Eat slowly, no one will take it from you. If it's not enough, I'll get more for you."
Looking at Paxon's bright and sincere eyes, Darren couldn't help but smile.
"No need, this is enough. I'm very happy."
No matter who Paxon thought he was, Darren was content to receive his care.
Sebastian's family stayed at the palace for two days before returning home.
His eye condition had gradually worsened.
From initially losing sight once or twice a day, it had progressed to many times a day. One day, while accompanying Paxon to the amusement park, it happened again.
His vision went completely dark, and he couldn't see anything.

He suddenly called out nervously, "Paxon."
Paxon had run off somewhere and didn't hear Sebastian's call.
Sebastian panicked, immediately taking out his phone to make a call, but the phone slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.
He quickly squatted down, feeling around with his hands.
His pitiful state was heart-wrenching.
This was not the fearsome Sebastian, nor the domineering and cold figure in the business world.
Seeing Sebastian like this, Darren was moved.
He immediately walked over, picked up the phone from the ground, and handed it to Sebastian.
Feeling the phone, Sebastian immediately said, "Thank you."
He then tried to use voice command to call Paxon's smartwatch.
At that moment, a familiar voice came to his ear, "No need to call, he's over there
playing with blocks."
Hearing this voice, Sebastian frowned and asked in a deep voice, "Mr. Vale?"
Darren, with tears in his eyes, choked up, "Sebastian, it's me."
Sebastian nodded slightly, "Didn't Theodore say you went to Snowpeakia? Why are you back?"
Darren looked at his deep but unfocused eyes and said, "I came back to take care of some things."
Sebastian didn't think much of it and simply nodded, "You're here to see Paxon, right?"
Darren didn't hide it and directly admitted, "I wanted to see him a few more times. Once I go back, I won't be able to see him again."
"It's not like you won't come back. How could you never see him again? Have Theodore send you photos."
Hearing this, Darren felt a bit comforted.
Since the incident, Sebastian had changed a lot.

He was no longer so cold and heartless.
For someone who had hurt Joyce, Sebastian could say such things.
This made Darren emotional.
Tears involuntarily rolled down his cheeks.
Choking up, he said, "Sebastian, I'm entrusting Joyce and Paxon to you. I hope you treat them well and that your family remains as happy as they are now."
Sebastian smiled slightly, "I will. Paxon is over there. You can call him over to keep you company for a while."
Hearing this, Darren's tears flowed even more.
"Sebastian, can I really?"
"Yes, let's have lunch together. That way, you can spend more time with Paxon. Besides,
I can't see right now, so I can rest here for a bit."
Seeing him like this, Darren felt a pang of sorrow, "Is it getting worse?"
"Yes, I can only wait for surgery, but we haven't found a suitable cornea yet."
Darren patted his shoulder, "You'll find one. You and Joyce shouldn't end like this. God will be fair to you."
"Let's hope so. Otherwise, I feel I've let Joyce down. She's suffered so much for me, and now she has to take care of a blind man."
"No, you'll find one. Trust me."
As they were talking, Paxon ran over.
Seeing Darren, his eyes widened, "What a coincidence! You're here too. Are you here to see your grandson?"
Darren, looking at his adorable face, couldn't help but pinch his cheek and smile, "I'm not looking for him, I'm looking for you. I want to invite you and your dad to lunch. How about it?"
Paxon replied without hesitation, "Sure, let's go have pizza."
He led Sebastian towards the pizza place.
Darren followed behind them, quietly sending a message.noveldrama
