Chapter 816 Giving Donovan a Massage

Ruby placed the cup on the desk, "I'm heading out."

Donovan watched her back coldly, "Wait a minute."

Ruby paused, turned around with delight, her eyes shining as she looked at Donovan,

"Is there anything else I can do for you? Just let me know."

Seeing her fawning expression, Donovan frowned, "Do you know how to give a massage?"

As soon as he said it, he regretted it. Ruby was pampered; how could she know how to do such a thing?

To his surprise, Ruby nodded quickly, "I do. Last year, I learned from a neighbor and worked at his clinic for a few months."

Meeting Donovan's skeptical gaze, she nervously licked her lips, "You can try it first. I'm really good at it."

Donovan had been spending too much time on the computer lately, and his neck and right arm were uncomfortable. Seeing Ruby's eager expression, he decided to trust her

this once.

He went to sit on the couch, and Ruby nervously walked over to him.

She looked down at him, "If you feel uncomfortable, just let me know. I'll go slowly and won't hurt you."

Donovan bit his back teeth, thinking she might have said it ambiguously on purpose. He coldly replied, "Why do you talk so much?"

Ruby awkwardly closed her mouth. She grabbed his wrist, lifted his arm over his head, and placed it on his back, holding his elbow with force.

"Do you feel the stretch in your muscles?" she asked, running her fingers over his arm, causing a slight tingling sensation.

Donovan's scalp tightened, and he said coldly, "Stretching is fine, just don't do anything else."

"Okay." Ruby knew he didn't like her touching him, so she didn't explain which part was being stretched, only asking if he felt uncomfortable.

Soon, she completed a set of arm stretches, "Move your arm a bit and see if it feels better."

Donovan moved his arm and indeed felt much better. He glanced at her, "You're really good at this."

Ruby motioned for him to lie on the couch. She took off her shoes, lifted one leg up, and the couch sank a bit. Donovan immediately became alert, "What are you doing?" Ruby blushed at his question, "I'm relaxing your neck. What else did you think I was doing?"

Donovan turned his face back, lying on the couch. Ruby knelt beside his waist and leaned over to massage his shoulders and neck.

Her fingers were cool, and when they touched Donovan's neck, he tensed up as if a jolt of electricity had run through him.

Ruby felt the muscles under her fingers immediately tighten. She said, "Relax a bit, don't resist me."

This inappropriate massage technique where did she learn it, and how many people had she done this to?

"Why didn't you continue learning massage?" Donovan asked casually, trying to distract himself.

Ruby was massaging his neck, moving down one vertebra at a time, but her thoughts were suddenly pulled back to that chaotic and terrifying stormy night.

That day, she was helping at the neighbor's clinic when a sudden storm hit. A few thugs came in to take shelter and made advances on her.

The neighbor had to fight hard to drive them away, and after that, she didn't dare go back to the clinic, afraid of causing more trouble for him.

The movements on Donovan's neck suddenly stopped. He was enjoying the massage and was annoyed, "Why did you stop?"noveldrama

Ruby snapped back to reality and continued massaging him. She resumed the previous topic, "I found another job later, so I didn't have time to go back."

"The other job you found was washing dishes in a restaurant?" Donovan said coolly.

Ruby felt embarrassed. She stared blankly at the back of Donovan's head, "You investigated me?"

Donovan suddenly brushed her hand away and turned to face her. The movement caused Ruby to lose her balance and sit directly on his abdomen.

She was startled, her face flushing red before turning pale. She hurriedly tried to get off him, but Donovan grabbed her waist, holding her in place.

His fingers gripped tightly, the warmth seeping through her thin clothes, making her heart race.

"You have a criminal record with me. If it weren't for the fact that you gave birth to Ethan and suffered so much, I would have retaliated against you in another way," Donovan said coldly.

For the first time in days, Ruby heard Ethan's name from his mouth. She was stunned. She had always thought Donovan didn't know about Ethan's existence, but it turned out he knew everything and just didn't bother to mention it.

Or maybe he didn't care about Ethan at all.

After all, she had hurt him. To him, giving birth to Ethan was just another scheme, and he didn't want to acknowledge Ethan.

"You, you knew?"

Donovan smirked coldly, "Did you think I was still the clueless guy from over three years ago? Ruby, everything you've done in the past three years has been under my control. That stormy night, do you think it was a coincidence that a police car passed by such a remote place?"

Ruby's face turned completely pale, a chill running down her spine.

He knew everything, yet he watched her suffer humiliation, watched her miss him day and night, watched her fall into despair. He was so ruthless.

"Why are you looking at me with such a hurt expression? Do you feel wronged?" Donovan grabbed her chin, "For what you did to me, even if I repay you tenfold, it wouldn't be too much. Get off!" He withdrew his hand and ordered her coldly. Tears welled up in Ruby's eyes but didn't fall.

The Donovan in front of her didn't care about her at all. His heart had turned to stone. Crying in front of him would only bring her humiliation.

She quickly got off him, put on her slippers, and walked out.

Donovan sat up on the couch, watching Ruby's hurriedly departing back with an unreadable expression. He wouldn't forgive her just because she gave him a massage.

Ruby almost ran out of the villa crying. After running a distance, she squatted by the roadside, crying. She knew she deserved it and didn't blame Donovan for retaliating against her.

But she still felt hurt.

They had once loved each other so much. Donovan had once been such a good person, but now he had become so cold, all because of her.

She couldn't escape the blame.

Cindy was coming from the apartment and saw someone squatting by the roadside. At first, she didn't pay attention, but as she got closer, she recognized Ruby by her clothes.

She walked up to her, "What are you doing squatting here?"

The sudden voice startled Ruby. She looked up to see Cindy looking down at her.

She quickly wiped her tears and stood up, "Ms. Croix, are you here to see Phoebe?"
