Chapter 818 As Long As It's Not Theodore

Phoebe was overwhelmed with mixed emotions. Ever since she talked to Theodore

about sleeping with a male escort, he hadn't shown up again.

She knew that with Theodore's pride, he would never come looking for her. Yet, she felt an inexplicable sense of loss.

Seeing her lying there motionless, Cindy poked her with a finger, "What are you thinking about?"

Phoebe snapped out of it, looking a bit confused, "I was thinking about how my mom, such a soft-hearted person, will manage to hold out against Mr. Ziegler this time."

Cindy recalled the scene of Evelyn chasing Harper with a broom earlier and couldn't help but laugh, "Evelyn's temper is still the same after all these years."

After chatting for a bit, the conversation returned to Theodore. Cindy turned her head and asked, "What were you thinking, just telling him like that?"

With Theodore's pride and self-esteem, he definitely couldn't handle it. She was desperate to divorce him, and right after the divorce, she slept with a male escort. Who was she trying to spite?

Phoebe sat up next to her, looking at the moonlight outside the window, "He already knows about the kids. How they came into the picture doesn't matter anymore."

Cindy sighed, "You really don't understand men."

She thought that Theodore, being silent these past few days, might be up to something. When he had the time, Phoebe might be in trouble.

"It doesn't matter. I just want to see the kids grow up safely," she said, looking back at the sleeping Hubert, Boris, and Noomi with a gentle gaze, "Sometimes I want them to grow up quickly, and other times I wish they would stay little forever."

"Mothers are always so conflicted. By the way, there's something else. I don't know if you've heard," Cindy suddenly said.

Phoebe was puzzled, "What is it?"

"Queen Entertainment's scandalous photos made headlines nationwide, and they were facing bankruptcy. But I heard a mysterious person invested in Vanessa, and the company came back to life, settling in Greenwood Tower across from Kedora TV station," Cindy said, with a gossiping tone.

Phoebe remembered Vanessa splashing red paint on her last time and frowned, "I underestimated her."

When she was choosing a location for her company before returning to the country, she had considered Greenwood Tower. It was just across the street from Kedora TV station, with convenient transportation.

However, the annual rent for Greenwood Tower was very high, and they couldn't reach an agreement. So, Phoebe chose the Empire State Building, which was a bit farther from the TV station.

For Queen Entertainment to settle in Greenwood Tower when they were on the brink

of bankruptcy, it was clear that the mysterious investor had deep pockets.

"Can you find out who is behind her?" Phoebe asked.

She was still uneasy about the resentful look Vanessa gave her that day. Vanessa might be planning revenge.

"I'll help you find out. Vanessa is not to be underestimated," Cindy reminded her. "I know."

Cindy left early the next morning. She had begged Patrick for the night off.

Returning to the set, she drove to a restaurant to pack dozens of breakfasts, had the staff put them in the back seat, and drove to the set.

She arrived early. As her car drove in, she saw Ulysses peeking around at the entrance. Seeing her, he ran over.

"Cindy, you're finally here. Patrick didn't sleep well last night. He's been asking me all morning if you're back," Ulysses said with a pained expression.noveldrama

Cindy got out of the car, "I was only gone for one night. By the way, I brought breakfast for everyone. Can you help distribute it?"

Ulysses looked at the breakfast packaging in the back seat and his expression brightened. "Thanks, Cindy," he said with a smile.

Cindy took a special breakfast for Patrick, waved to Ulysses, and walked to the makeup

room.

Along the way, she greeted the staff with a smile, and they responded warmly.

Cindy pushed open the makeup room door and saw Patrick lazily sitting on the sofa, playing a game on his phone.

Patrick glanced at her and then looked away indifferently, "Back so early?"

"Yeah, Ulysses said the house was on fire, so I had to rush back," Cindy put the breakfast on the table.

Patrick complained, "Such a big mouth. I'll fire him tomorrow."

Cindy laughed, "Go ahead, fire him. Let's see who can put up with your bad temper."

Patrick glanced at his phone, where his character had just been killed by an enemy's ultimate move. He gritted his teeth, "What did you get me?"

Cindy opened the package and started eating, "Who said I got it for you? I bought it for myself."

Patrick put down his phone, "You went to Phoebe's and she didn't give you breakfast?" "She did, but I wasn't full. Can't I have a second breakfast?" Cindy held a spoon, not eating, watching Patrick walk over from the corner of her eye.

Patrick glanced at the food, all his favorites. This woman always had a way of saying one thing and meaning another. He took the food.

"I haven't had breakfast yet. If you want more, go find the catering staff," he said, taking the spoon from her hand.

Cindy didn't fight him. Watching him eat, she propped her chin with her hand and asked with a smile, "Is it good?"

Patrick glanced at her. Whenever she smiled like that, she wanted something. He said seriously, "It's terrible."

"If it's terrible, why are you eating so happily? Your standards are really low," Cindy was annoyed. This guy had a mouth but couldn't speak plainly.

Patrick's lips curled up slightly.

Cindy sulked for a while, then remembered she needed a favor and had to lower her pride, "Look, I went back and even brought you breakfast. Shouldn't you thank me?"

Patrick responded with a sound.

Seeing hope, Cindy lowered her stance, "Patrick, you've been in the entertainment industry for so many years. You know everything, right?"

Patrick squinted, "Who do you want to know about?"

Cindy thought he was quick on the uptake and asked humbly, "You must know

Vanessa, the owner of Queen Entertainment."

Patrick looked at her, "Why do you want to know about her?"

"I'm just curious how Queen Entertainment came back to life and moved into

Greenwood Tower. I want to know who invested in her," Cindy said.

Patrick saw through her thoughts and said lightly, "It doesn't matter who invested in her, as long as it's not Theodore."
