Mommy,We Got a Husband

Chapter 473 Monitored and Not Fighting Back?

Cormac felt that he didn't drink much last night and had stopped drinking while still sober, but he still woke up with a significant hangover the next day.

"Did you drink too much last night?" Rowena asked with concern. "How are you feeling now? Are you uncomfortable?"

Comarc commented, "I'm fine. I didn't drink much, just a bit too quickly. Officer Neil can really hold his liquor; he drank so much and was still fine."

Rowena said, "He's naturally good at drinking."

"Indeed." Cormac quickly got up and said, "Rowena, you stay in bed. I'll bring you breakfast."

Rowena said, "No need, this is still Mr. Knight's house. I'll just go to the dining room to eat, and then we can go home."

Cormac said, "I want you to stay in bed, so stay in bed. Pregnant women need to rest. Wait here, I'll be quick."

When Cormac went downstairs to the dining room, Caspian, Harry, Elisa, and Aurora were already seated and eating breakfast.

"Good morning!" Caspian, Harry, and Elisa greeted Cormac politely.

Cormac asked, "Where are your mom and dad?"

"They're still sleeping," Elisa said.

Harry said, "Cormac, you don't need to worry about them."

"I wasn't planning to," Cormac said. "Take your time eating. The driver will take you to school when you're done."

Harry responded, "Okay."

Cormac brought Rowena's breakfast upstairs and set it on the table. He then carefully wiped her face and hands with a towel before offering her the breakfast.

Rowena asked, "I'm just newly pregnant. You don't plan to treat me like this the whole time, do you?"

Cormac said, "Why not? We're only having this one child, and you'll only be pregnant once in your life. Of course, I want to take good care of you."

Rowena felt particularly satisfied with this. She knew Cormac was a good husband and would be an even better father.

"Cormac, thank you," Rowena said, genuinely moved. "Thank you for spoiling me so much."

Cormac smiled and said, "Rowena, you're my wife. If I don't spoil you, who will I spoil? Besides, the Nash family used to be a family of four, and now it's just me. Fate has given me a new family, so how could I not cherish it?"

Rowena said, "Cormac, don't worry. Our family will always be together."

"Okay." Cormac nodded with a smile and added, "And there's something else that makes me happy. The person who killed Orion is about to be brought to justice, which will bring some peace to Orion and Griffon."

Before Griffon died, he was determined to find out who killed Orion and not let Orion's death be in vain.

They thought it would be a long process, but it progressed faster than expected. Once Ambrose was sentenced, this matter would be settled.

As Alaric mentioned, Ambrose had been restless these past few days, sensing an ominous feeling all along.

After reviewing the necessary documents, Ambrose closed the folder and casually picked up a pen, twirling it between his fingers.

The office door was open, and Tommy knocked before walking in.

"Mr. Vale," Tommy reported, "Neil went to Alaric's house last night and didn't leave until the early hours."

"Really? Are they plotting how to catch me?" Ambrose laughed. "They're really putting in the effort."

"Mr. Vale, I also discovered something else," Tommy said. "The surveillance equipment at Far East International seems to have been compromised."

"What did you say?" Ambrose was shocked.

Tommy said, "Yes, I just discovered it this morning. I noticed interference when I was checking the surveillance."

Ambrose said, "It's either Alaric or Neil. Can you find out how long we've been monitored?"

Tommy said, "I can't determine that, but a skilled hacker could trace the IP address and disrupt their interference."

Ambrose said, "No need."noveldrama

ommy was surprised by Ambrose's firm refusal. "We've been monitored. Shouldn't we retaliate and stop them from watching us?"

"They could learn nothing about those cases through the office. If they want to watch, let them. It fits my plan perfectly."

Tommy didn't understand what Ambrose meant. Seeing Tommy's confusion, Ambrose said, "You don't need to understand. Just find a way to avoid all surveillance and come to my house after midnight."

At this point, he couldn't just wait to be caught.

Actually, Alaric didn't have time to check Far East International's surveillance. He had

slept late last night and woke up particularly late today.

When he woke up, Cormac and Rowena had already left.

"Finally awake?" Stellan looked at the time. It was already 9:30. "This must be the latest you've ever slept."

Indeed, Alaric always woke up early, even if he went to bed late.

Alaric said, "That's because I was sleeping with my wife. It was so comfortable that I slept soundly."

Stella was helpless. "Stop it. You stayed up late talking with Neil and lost track of time, which is why you couldn't get up today."

Alaric asked, "Are you jealous of Neil?"

"Get lost. I'm not that petty," Stellan said as she got up. "We just had the reopening press conference yesterday, and you're already skipping work today."

"Just one day off. What's the big deal?" Alaric said as he pulled Stellan into his arms. "Let's take a day off today."

"What are you planning?" Stellan reminded him, "You still haven't finished your punishment for not using protection last time. Don't get any ideas. Get up and eat!" Alaric nodded. "Alright."

Alaric obediently got up, and then he had a meal with Stellan.

Alaric suggested, "I don't feel like going to the office today. How about we visit the hospital construction site?"

Stellan said, "Sure, I haven't been there yet."

"Great, I'll take you to see it. You'll be the director there soon," Alaric said.

Stellan just glanced at him and didn't respond. After eating, they went out together.

It was indeed Stellan's first time at the construction site, and she was shocked by how large it was.

Stellan asked, "You never told me why Ambrose was willing to give us such a large piece of land."

"I just scared him a bit. He felt guilty, so he did it," Alaric sighed. "People do the dumbest things when they're guilty."

"That explanation is as good as none!" Stellan retorted. "Forget it, I won't ask anymore."

Alaric just smiled, then put his arm around her and said, "Come on; let's take a look inside."

Alaric and Stellan had a fulfilling day. After visiting the construction site, they went out to eat and shop.

The day passed quickly for Alaric and Stellan, but for Ambrose, it felt endless.

Ambrose left the office late and drove home. Just as he was about to open the door, he felt someone following him closely.
