The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 505 Breaking Points and Silent Requests

Freya stood quietly outside the door, peering through the glass at the man seated on the sofa inside. This was the same man who had once elevated her to the heavens and then, just as cruelly, cast her down into hell.

She slowly lifted her hand, forming a half-fist, and gently knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Nathaniel's voice was gruff, and he didn't lift his head, his mood still dark. For days, he had remained sullen; even the doctor who tended to his wounds seemed to keep his distance.

Freya's recent actions had left Nathaniel in a deeply somber state. He was absorbed in his laptop, tracking the Hill family's stock market performance.

Despite his previous reluctance to act against Michael due to their past, their relationship had deteriorated completely after Abigail's incident.

Although Nathaniel had chosen not to annihilate Michael entirely, honoring some of their old bond, the actions of the Hill family had left him deeply disheartened.

He had thought it was just a nurse coming in to check his temperature, and he kept his eyes glued to the screen. The collaboration between the Morgan family and the Lloyds against the Hill family was beginning to unfold.

Nathaniel knew that Alexander would exploit any chance to attack. As Nathaniel began his own strike against the Hill family, the Lloyds had already seized the opportunity to capture territory in Saeville.

Despite his frustration, Nathaniel saw Alexander's role as beneficial, at least in keeping his troublesome brother in check. They had common interests in dealing with Sawyer.

Nathaniel took a breath, suddenly realizing that the nurse today seemed unusually quiet. Just as he was about to react, he saw Freya standing in the doorway.

The sight made his laptop slip off his lap, and in his attempt to catch it, he bumped his forehead painfully against the table in front of the sofa, leaving him momentarily dazed.

Freya cleared her throat. “I came to see how you're doing. Are you okay?"

"Thank you for saving me," she said, presenting a bouquet of flowers she had been holding behind her. The bouquet, filled with bright baby's breath and a few cheerful daisies, added a touch of liveliness to the room.

The flowers brought a brief moment of warmth to Nathaniel's heart, much like the daisies. Despite this, his lingering frustration with Freya remained evident.

The divorce agreement was putting a serious strain on their relationship, and Nathaniel still wasn't sure if Freya had married him out of revenge against Abigail or because she genuinely loved him.

Nathaniel didn't take the flowers Freya offered. Instead, he slowly bent down to pick up his fallen laptop from the floor and placed it back on the table.

He then resumed his focus on the computer screen. Freya frowned slightly and moved to a nearby high table to retrieve a vase.

The hospital had excellent facilities, including a dedicated vase for flowers. Freya arranged the bouquet in the vase and then stood in front of Nathaniel.

Nathaniel kept his head down, feeling that sometimes women needed a reality check.

He continued working on his laptop, though his fingers had become stiff from stress. His heart raced, and his wounds were aggravated, causing him discomfort.

Freya interpreted his avoidance as a sign of his displeasure with her, and she inwardly mocked the situation.

Luna, being beautiful and Nathaniel's childhood friend, seemed like a normal attachment for him.

If Nathaniel was already dissatisfied with her, discussing further matters should be simpler.

"Nathaniel, I need to talk to you!"

Nathaniel's hands frozen, and he didn't respond.

Freya pursed her lips and spoke quietly, "Have you seen the divorce agreement?"

Crash!

Nathaniel's laptop was thrown to the floor, this time by his own hand.noveldrama

He stood up and approached Freya, his eyes reddened with anger and his body trembling slightly.

Even in his extreme anger, Nathaniel didn't resort to his usual method of intimidating her physically.

His voice shook from the strain of his emotions as he took a deep breath and said, "Freya."

He pointed to the door of the room, each word coming out with difficulty.

"Freya... If you don't want me to die in front of you, get out right now!"

Freya looked up at the tall man, understanding that their issues couldn't remain unresolved. There had to be a way to settle things.

"Nathaniel..."

"Don't call my name; don't call!" Nathaniel's voice was trembling. "Get out! Leave!"

Freya was surprised by Nathaniel's reaction. He was the one who had cheated, so why was he so angry with her?

She had barely said anything, yet he was already extremely agitated.

Nathaniel was too volatile for any constructive conversation. Recognizing this, Freya decided to leay@and wait for him to calm down before trying to talk again.

As Freya exited Nathaniel's hospital room, she encountered Ozzy, and they both stopped in surprise.

While they were momentarily stunned, loud crashing noises from Nathaniel's room were audible.

Ozzy's expression shifted slightly, and he said to Freya, "Mrs. Morgan, please give Mr. Nathaniel a break!"

"If he continues like this, he might actually die!"

Confused and uncertain about what she had done wrong, Freya pursed her lips and turned toward the elevator. As she stepped into the elevator, she received a call from Sawyer.

"Freya, you can visit your brother now. The doctor informed me that his condition

has stabilized. There are still some matters to discuss in person."

Freya's face brightened with relief. She ended the call quickly and went

downstairs.

Upon leaving the building, she saw Sawyer leaning against his car, waiting for her. Despite his forehead injury, his appearance remained striking, adding a rugged charm to

his otherwise refined demeanor.

"Let's go," Sawyer said, opening the car door for Freya. The two bodyguards

followed in a separate vehicle.

Sawyer raised an eyebrow and commented, "What's with the added surveillance?"

The bodyguards ignored him and got into their car, waiting for him to join them.

Sawyer gritted his teeth, glanced back at the eighth floor with a smirk, and then got into the driver's seat.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel had calmed down. He stood by the window, watching as Sawyer's car disappeared from view.

"Mr. Nathaniel," Koen said as he entered, holding some documents. "Luna and Ethan have left Pontenero, and their whereabouts are unknown."

Nathaniel replied coldly, "Continue the search."
