The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 506 Freya’s Struggle

Koen nodded, still stunned by the situation. He hadn't anticipated that Luna would be the source of the problem this time.

After rescuing Freya and her brother and returning to Pontenero, Hudson found he could no longer reach Luna.

Mr. Nathaniel, sensing the odd atmosphere in Pontenero, had a strong suspicion about what was happening.

The poor security in Pontenero was closely linked to Luna. When they sent someone to her apartment, they found that she had already disappeared.

Her fiancé Ethan was also missing, and they had found a phone on the deck of Michael's ship.

Xavier managed to recover the data from it, revealing that Luna was in close contact with Michael.

This revelation caused an uproar. Mr. Nathaniel was furious and ordered a complete overhaul of the security personnel in Pontenero, firing everyone closely associated with Luna.

Even Hudson, who had recommended Luna for rehire, found himself sidelined and isolated, drinking alone in a bar.

It was clear to everyone that Luna's actions were driven by unresolved grievances from years ago, and her aim was to end Freya's life.

Koen, who had made the mistake of entrusting all Pontenero matters to Luna, felt a significant share of the responsibility for Freya's situation. He was reluctant to speak up or plead for Hudson.

"Check on Ethan's family's assets in Pontenero," Nathaniel suddenly ordered.

"Yes, I'll look into it," Koen replied.

"Mr. Nathaniel," Koen asked carefully, "what should we do if we find Luna?" Nathan's eyes narrowed. "After all these years, she still hasn't reflected on her actions properly. It's probably best for her to reflect elsewhere."

Koen shuddered at the thought. Mr. Nathaniel's harshness was clear in how he would throw a longtime friend into prison over a woman, showing no leniency.

Koen steadied himself and left. Nathaniel stared out the window, his gaze seemingly trying to pierce through the space Sawyer and Freya had recently occupied, as if scrutinizing their last moments there.

He sat back down on the sofa, feeling noticeably weakened by the recent surgeries; even standing by the window for a short while made him sweat heavily.

Nathaniel pulled out the divorce agreement Freya had given him, which he had brought with him to Pontenero.

He had initially wanted to ask Freya what he had done wrong to deserve such treatment and the divorce papers.

However, when he actually saw her earlier, he couldn't bring himself to confront her about it.

He stared at the divorce agreement in his hands, then ripped it into two halves and threw them onto the table. Still feeling unsatisfied, he picked up the pieces and tore them into smaller bits, which made him feel a bit better.

Soon after, he called the nurse to clean up the shredded paper and dispose of it. As he watched the papers being taken away, his expression softened somewhat.

He then picked up his phone and sent Freya a message, "I don't agree."

Freya had just arrived at a scenic house in the suburbs of Pontenero with Sawyer, and she was admiring the view through the window when she received Nathaniel's message.

The simple text read, "I don't agree."

Freya's expression tightened. "Why?" Her tone was sharp; although Nathaniel had saved her life, it didn't mean she could forgive his affair with Luna.

Nathaniel, seeing Freya's "why" response, was angry.

Why? How could you expect me to explain? You were treating me like I didn't matter and getting close to Sawyer. Did that indicate that he was the reason you were abandoning me?

He quickly typed a reply and then blocked her number.

Freya read the message:

"There's no 'why'! As a married woman, you should know what's right and wrong."

"You want me to sign the divorce papers so you can marry Sawyer? Dream on! Even in your wildest dreams, it won't happen. Both you and Sawyer should forget it!"

Freya's face went pale, and she furrowed her brow deeply. She hadn't expected Nathaniel to turn the blame on her.

Yes, I was married, but didn't he realize he was married too? Wasn't his affair with Luna just as wrong? Didn't he find it repulsive?

"Mr. Nathaniel, if you won't sign, I will file for divorce!"

After a moment of hesitation, she

sent the message, only to find that Nathaniel had blocked her immediately. Even though Freya usually maintained her composure, she couldn't help but feel irritated.

Instead of talking things through, Nathaniel responded in a petulant and irrational way by blocking her.

What was the point of avoiding a conversation? If he didn't want to be with her, they should just separate. Their relationship had always been complicated and exhausting, so what was his current attitude about it?

"What's wrong? Why the sour expression?" Sawyer, who had parked outside the clinic, glanced at Freya in surprise.

Freya noticed her expression was stiff and realized she needed to compose herself before meeting her brother.

She felt a deep sense of guilt toward the Gomez family, particularly her brother Mason was the most-

conflict between the Gomez and

innocent person caught in theel. ne

Morgan families.

Freya steadied herself and followed Sawyer into the clinic.

The clinic had a warm and inviting design. After meeting her brother, she planned

to take him home.

While waiting in the reception area, Freya's anxiety grew. Sawyer, sensing her distress, said softly, "Don't worry, everything will be fine."

Freya nodded, but Sawyer then asked, "I haven't seen Nathaniel visiting you lately. What's going on between you two?"

"You don't seem like a typical couple. How's the divorce situation? I'm getting anxious!"noveldrama

"Sawyer!" Freya snapped, her frustration evident.

Sawyer quickly made a zipping motion across his lips, signaling her to keep quiet. Freya relaxed slightly.

The reception room door opened, and Mason entered wearing a gray tracksuit.

His previously messy hair was now neatly styled. With his arms still in braces, he moved awkwardly.

Despite the amusing sight, Freya couldn't bring herself to smile, as tears brimmed in her eyes.

This was the first time she had encountered a member of the Gomez family who could actually communicate with her.

"Mason! I am here to take you home."
