Back at Flying Seal Group, Sebastian informed Evelyn that she needed to visit Xonic International School the following day.

Sebastian was a graduate of Xonic International School. As an honorary alumnus, he had been invited to give a speech to the senior students about to graduate. With Flying Seal Group's new project about to launch, this was the perfect opportunity for project funding.

The event at the school would be attended by influential figures from the investment world, making it an excellent publicity and financing opportunity. Though Evelyn hadn't graduated from there, she had visited twice before. The first time was for a parent-teacher meeting for Sophia.

Sebastian's car entered the campus, and they both got out. The senior students were already heading into the auditorium. As a prominent figure in the aerospace academic world, Sebastian was immediately greeted by people as soon as he stepped out of the car. Evelyn quietly stood to the side.

She was about to head up the stairs when she heard someone call out her name.

"Evelyn?"

Sophia spotted her from a distance and ran over in surprise. "What are you doing here?"

Evelyn glanced back at her, her expression neutral. She didn't respond.

Sophia stomped her foot in frustration. "What are you doing here? Go home! Do you know who's here today? The visitors are all big shots. What are you doing here, causing a scene?"

She was clearly displeased. The school hadn't just invited influential people from various industries today; they had also invited the parents of the students.

What did Evelyn have to offer? With her low education level and her life revolving around the kitchen, she had no skills to show off. If any students asked about her, Sophia couldn't even say that Evelyn was her sister-in-law.

"Sophia, do you know her? Who is this?" A female classmate approached and asked.

Sophia pursed her lips and instinctively replied, "...She's our family's nanny."

The girl's face lit up with surprise. "Your nanny is so pretty!"

Sophia scowled, pulling the girl away quickly without saying another word.

The entire exchange took less than a minute.

Evelyn gave a cold glance in the direction Sophia had gone off to, but she couldn't be bothered to argue with a girl.

Sebastian returned and asked, "Who was that?"

Evelyn shook her head. "No one. Not important."

They both entered the auditorium. Evelyn immediately noticed Lucas and Tiffany, who were surrounded by people.

It wasn't surprising to see Lucas at this event. But Sophia, who had just been embarrassed by Evelyn, had already run to them. She was now clinging to Lucas and Tiffany, laughing proudly. Evelyn could vaguely hear her addressing Tiffany respectfully.

Sebastian clicked his tongue. "Your ex-husband really coddles Tiffany."

As long as there were connections to be made, Tiffany got the priority.

Evelyn didn't care, though. She simply took a seat at a designated spot. Sebastian then turned to mingle.

She opened her laptop and began pulling up the 3D renderings and project plans that Sebastian would need for his upcoming speech. She was so focused that she didn't notice her bag slipping off the table and falling to the floor.

Just as she was about to bend down to pick it up, someone else had already bent down to grab it.

When she saw it was Lucas, her expression remained calm. "Thank you." Lucas placed the bag on the table, offering a light smile. "No need to mention it."

At that moment, Hailey Miller came over and saw the scene. She walked up to Lucas and greeted him. "Mr. Grant, long time no see. Thank you for making the time to come to Xonic International School for the speech."

Lucas' lips curled into a subtle smirk. "Thank you, Ms. Miller. It's my honor to be invited."

Hailey turned to Evelyn. "Is this the one everyone's been talking about? Your girlfriend? She's really beautiful."

By now, everyone knew that Lucas had a highly educated overseas graduate partner.
