Leaning against her seat, Alexandra smiles. "What do you think?"

"Honestly I don't know anymore"

"I will participate in the contest, I'm an Alpha of this clan after all and my father is the Alpha so is only right that I take part in it, don't you think?"

"Of course, you have to take part in it because if you don't take part, people may start to think you are some weakling Alpha since you are not yet married to Nathaniel"

"Married? How did you know we are getting married?"

"When you have a mate is most likely you have to get married"

"You are right"

"You will win and lead this pack"

"I heard a lot of people are supporting Adam Hawthorn to win"

"Is a tie"

"Equal supporters?"

"Yes but you are stronger. Have you been training as I told you to?"

"I do some laps, race to the woods and all"

"That's good, you also need speed"

"Adam has speed and strength. He's an Alpha"

The female pack member tucks her hair behind her ear. "You are also an Alpha with speed and strength, just watch your opponent moves and trust your instincts"

"Why do you want to believe in me?"

"Because you are the best person to lead this pack, Alexandra Guerrero. There is just more to you and I will love to figure it all out"

Alexandra takes another sip. "What if you are disappointed"

"Will try and welcome it"

"What if I lose and fail to lead the pack?"

"I can live with that but then I believe in you and don't be scared of Adam because

of his muscularity. We are werewolves so we are the same as the men, I guess"

"We are not, you just have to keep training" Alexandra chuckles

The female pack member savors the last piece of chicken on her plate.

"I will try my best in the Alpha election ceremony"

"I won't come"

Surprised, Alexandra lowers her glass. "Why?"

"I get nervous and sweaty hands during these things"

"How are you going to get your fantasy mate then?"

"Oh when it comes to love I don't get scared at all"

"You are full of surprises"

"Coming from my Alpha, I will take that as a compliment"

Alexandra smiles, without uttering another word continues eating in silence.

After the meal with the pack member, all Alexandra wanted to do was go home and stay in her bedroom but she found herself wandering around, taking a stroll in the woods and then the quiet pack that was off a sketch of her home.

She had retreated to take solace while filling her mind with memories of Nathaniel.

"The election is around the corner yet here I am thinking about you" she smiles "Will you have come if I had invited you?" She wonders uncertain about the look Nathaniel would have had if she had told him about the ceremony.

"I want to surprise you every day" she closes her eyes and imagines him sitting next to her staring at her intently.

"What is running through your head?"

"You" He whispers

Tears crowd her eyes and she blinks.

"Don't make me emotional, I need to be strong for the contest"

"Do you want me by your side?" He asks

"Will you come even if I had asked?"

Imagining Nathaniel running his index finger on her face, Alexandra gawks at him, her eyes softening.

"Why?"

"Stop doing that" she hits his hand away. "I don't want to get emotional alright. There is a ceremony around and I need to give it my best"

"Why were you possessive of me awhile ago"

Without uttering another word, Alexandra bites her lower lips.

"Sometimes I wonder if you are just my imagination or him" "Why?"

"Because the both of you have a liking to pissing me off"

"Is a conversation, we are having a conversation that's what normal couples do all the time"

"Do you know?"

"Yes I want to know why you said those things to Olivia"

"I just... I just don't... I just didn't want her to have eyes on you"

"Why?"

"Because you are my mate!" She states aloud.

"Is that all?"

"Is there supposed to be another reason?"

"I don't know" He states into space while Alexandra stares at him in silence for a

long moment.

"Are you scared?" He asks out of the blue?"

"Scared of what?"

"Facing Adam Hawthorn"

Averting her eyes, Alexandra stares into space.

"He's a strong Alpha"

"And so are you"

"Do you think I am a match for him?" She blinks her eyes uncertain

"Why are you asking? You are stronger and you know this too"

"Yes I know but then you already know my weakness, I couldn't beat those mobs

alone, you had to come to my rescue"

"And you didn't show gratitude"

Alexandra laughs. "Don't start"

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to laugh"

"I want you to laugh and yes I know you can do it despite any state you are in"

"Adam is strong"

"But you are stronger"

"Not any more or not exactly without my wolf"

Nathaniel looks at her, feeling his hot breath fanning her side cheek, she turns

gazing into his luring eyes.

"I miss you" she whispers

"You miss me or you miss our kiss"

Alexandra laughs, it didn't even cross her mind. "You are just like him,

unbelievable"

"And yet I'm still your mate"

"It didn't even cross my mind"

"What didn't?"

"The kiss and all. I just miss seeing your face around, pissing you off and all"

"So you admit you piss me off on purpose"noveldrama

"Well not all the time most of you trigger it"

"Maybe I should kiss you when we see to piss you off even more"

Alexandra smiles. "Maybe right?"

"Will you want that?"

"The only thing I want is to see your face"

"And then what happens next?"

"Figure out the rest" Alexandra laughs.

"You love figuring out, don't you?"

"A whole lot"

Nathaniel shakes his head disbelievingly, staring into space.

She whispers "Thank you"

"For what?"

"Putting a smile on my face even though I tried to chase you"

Nathaniel smiles. "You can never chase me, I'm your Nathaniel, your mate after

all"

"That's right, my Nathaniel, my mate" she states as he fades away.

"I miss you" she adds, staring into space
