Chapter 522 Stalked
When Freya walked into the private room, it was buzzing with energy.
Two girls were nearly sprawled on top of Nathaniel, who slowly lifted his head and made eye contact with Freya. His immediate reaction was to push the girl leaning
on him away.
Freya took in the smoky, disordered scene before her as her expression slowly darkened.
Nathaniel, still dazed, gathered himself and slowly stood up, following Freya out of the room with a submissive demeanour.
As soon as Nathaniel left, a collective sigh of relief swept through the room. The onlookers exchanged glances, noting his visibly intimidated state. Despite his prominent position in Saeville, it was clear that no one could rival his fear of his wife.
Freya walked out of the private room and headed straight for the elevator; her stride purposeful.
Nathaniel said nothing, trailing behind her like a tamed lion.
Previously, he had been lost and aimless. But this woman had come into his life and anchored his wandering spirit.
Freya entered the elevator, with Nathaniel following closely behind as the doors slid shut. She pressed the button for the top floor of the Red Shift.noveldrama
When they arrived at Nathaniel's private quarters, the scene was starkly different from a year ago. Back then, Nathaniel had brought Freya to this very room, where she was battered and filled with coldness and hatred toward him.
Now, he found himself returning to the same room, but following a very different path.
The room was meticulously cleaned daily, though it had been unoccupied for some time. It was immaculate, with not a speck of dust in sight.
Freya turned to face Nathaniel, took his hand, and placed it on the fingerprint lock. The door opened smoothly. As Nathaniel reached out to hold her hand, Freya swiftly pushed him away.
This action finally triggered Nathaniel's frustration. In a surge of anger, he grabbed Freya's arm and pushed her against the wall.
Nathaniel kissed her fiercely, almost suffocating her.
Freya struggled to breathe as Nathaniel's fierce kiss left her gasping. In a desperate move, she grabbed a vase from a nearby table and swung it at Nathaniel's head.
The vase struck him with a dull thud, stunning him into retreat. He staggered back, clutching his head and staring at Freya in shock.
"You actually hit me?" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of disbelief and hurt.
Ignoring his question, Freya pointed to the bathroom door. "Nathaniel, I need you to act like a rational person and stop being so unreasonable. It's exhausting for everyone around you."
"You're an adult now. You need to take responsibility for your actions."
The mention of responsibility seemed to ignite Nathaniel's fury. His eyes narrowed coldly. "Responsibility?"
"Freya, have you finally remembered that you're my wife? Shouldn't you be fulfilling your duties as a wife?"
"Can't I even kiss you now?"
Freya was at a loss for words. She was trying to address serious issues, but he was fixating on this.
Nathaniel's frustration mounted. "You are still my wife, and we haven't divorced yet. Are you really throwing yourself at other men?"
Nathaniel felt a surge of injustice. He had been the one to endure Freya's absence while she was with Sawyer in Pontenero, yet he wasn't even allowed to touch her as her legitimate husband?
Normally, Nathaniel was the
epitome of control-calm,
calculated, and ruthless as the ruler of Saeville's business empire. But when it came to Freya and his emotional turmoil, he was a man driven to irrationality.
Had he not brought up their marriage, Freya might have been able to tolerate his behavior. But his reference to their marital status only reminded her of the night with Luna in the car, filling her with deep revulsion.
